Genuis got home from the vets yesterday morning after spending a lonely scarey night away from his family. He had his boys removed. Nutted.
{If someone could spell the proper term for me I would appreciate it, It is one of those words that if I am not spelling it regularly I forget the proper spelling}
He is doing rather well, although I was worried because his {nards} look awfully swollen and bruised, poor thing. But he is starting to play today and being his usual happy self. His Mom and siblings were all sniffing him when he got home as if to make sure he was the same guy that left. Stormy started to growl at him. It was rather odd, because Stormy would sniff Genius nards then growl and then sniff some more and growl some more. It was kinda like he was saying, Oww.
Tinkerbell has an appointment next in about 10 days, I had to spread the appointments out at two week intervals. Then Stormy and then Tiny lil Princess will go last in the first weeks of Nov.
Just wanted to share this with you all. Oh and Stormy is what we now call Hoover.

That is great news! So nice and not very typical, as you know after all the hammering, for a person to follow through with the altering process. GOOD FOR YOU!
You and your companions will be healthier and happier for it.

Hello, just a quick update. Genius is now well healed and back to his bouncy playful self. I can happily say that he is no longer humping every thing in site.
Tinkerbell went to the vets yesterday morning to be spayed. She is home now and a bit sore. I feel for her. But like I told her this morning when she got home, it may hurt now but in a few days she will feel so much better and no more period cramps, LOL.
Next up is Stormy at the end of this month. see ya all then.
TY Hu for the comment, I did read it when you wrote it and I agree with you that Tinkerbell and her pups will be happier and healthier now. Granted Tinker is not thrilled today about it all, but like I said she will feel better in a couple days.

Hi Everyone interested in an update on Tinkerbell. She finally started acting like herself yesterday. She is feeling much better and I will be taking her stiches out next thursday.
I felt so bad for her for those first few days. She just didn't feel good. I have had surgery a few times and the one thing that I always had was pain meds. Why is it that they don't give animals something for the pain. Do they assume that because the animal cannot say "hey this hurts really bad!" that they don't need anything? Ah well, only two to go and then I am done, thank God. I hate watching my animals not feeling well.
She has been great at taking her antibiotics. LOL maybe that has something to do with the hunk of ham I keep hiding it in.
I will be back at the end of the month to report Stormy's denutting!
Till then, Happy Trails to you, until we met again!

I care very much. This owner decided not to repeat irresponsible breeding and is having them all altered. Music to my ears!
What I could care less about is some anonymous a-hole spewing crap here who has nothing to add for the welfare of animals.
If you must keep showing your ass, why not attack those who obviously don't learn or care and repeat mistakes over and over?

Mya, are you sure they didn't give her a pain patch? That's what most vets do these days. They don't actually give pain pills, but a patch that meters out a dose of pain meds. I know my last two feline surgeries were sent home with the patches. Maybe they just forgot to tell you.

Hu and CJK please ignore the following comments. This is not directed to anyone that took me for my word and wishes Tinkerbell and the pups well. Thank you for your support.
To the butt heads that need proof.
At this moment I am unable to find the paperwork for Genuis, however I will find it and I will also install my webcam and get a photo of Tinkerbells stitches tomorrow. I may even do a little video of removing her stitches on Thursday for ya. Will that be enough proof for you.
Here is the Documents on Tinkerbell Along with the appointment card for Stormy. My daughters name and phone number have been blacked out along with the payment info.
Stick that is you crack pipe and smoke it till ya choke. Call me a liar.

Your right. According to the invoice they didn't give her anything for pain. That is odd especially considering she's a female. I know my girls always come home with a pain patch but maybe there is a reason they didn't in her case. And also, every vet is different. Hell mine even charges me for "disposing" of the parts he removed...even for sterilizing his instruments. Must be one of the reasons I no longer go to him, huh? LOL

My daughter is the one that always deals with the vet and his staff. I never even thought to have her ask about pain meds. I am going to have my daughter find out if there is a reason he doesn't perscribe pain meds. I know that when tiny little Princess finally goes in next month, I will not be able to handle watching her not feel well for the first 36 hours. Tinkerbell is doing really good although today when I looked at her stitches they were looking a little red and puffy. I am hoping it is just from to much activity today.
She plays very rough with the pups at least once a day for a couple hours. Oh it is really funny to watch. It is like they are playing football without the ball. She gets the boys chasing her and then swings around and tackles them. Each day seems to be a different ones turn to get the crap beat out of em. Today was Genuis. Every time I turned around one of them was tackling him.
I can see why you are no longer going to your vet. Sounds very expensive. I am still looking for Genuis paperwork. I put it aside the day that I got it because I was dealing with my Grandson's teacher. Now I cannot remember where the 'aside was'.
I like our vet he always calls the next day to see how the patient is doing. Funniest thing was the day after the pups first shots he called to see how they were doing. The staff love being able to watch the pups grow. A few people at the clinic have tried to get my daughter to sell her my pups. She tells them that she is not allowed to come home without them. And she isn't either.
Well I have to say I feel good about finally getting the fixed. LOL I don't know if I will make it until the end of the month for Stormy as he has now taken to stalking my bathroom cat, "Wishbone". That cat is so 'starved'{he is petted ALL the time!} for attention that he lets Stormy hump him. I got a cute photo last night of Stormy sitting there watching Wishbone with love in his eyes, just waiting for the cat to get up. Well I guess it is better then him humping the tufts of grass in the back yard.
Oh almost forgot, I got a photo of Stormy in his favorite place to sleep, The cat litter box. I had tryed to litter box train the pups when they were small and all they would do is sleep in the litter and then poop outside the box. Of course I took it away as it didn't work. But now the dimwits think it is a doggy bed while the bedroom cat "Fuzzball" uses it for a bathroom. I know ewwwww!
Well I never have had a normal animal, why start now right!

Keep an eye on those "red and puffy" stitches. They shouldn't be that way and could be the first signs of an infection. As hard as it may be, you really shouldn't let her be playing so rough with the puppies. Ideally, she should be kept calm and if confining her is necessary, then do that.
Even with the Amoxi, an infection could easily set in. Actually, I'm surprised he gave her Amoxi because in my opinion, it's not the best antibiotic for post surgery. Clavamox would have been a much better med, but that's neither here nor there.
I've had a few kittens that liked to sleep in the litter box when they were very young, but ONLY when they were very young (like 3-5 wks of age).
I think Stormy is weird! Hopefully he will get over that habit. Sounds pretty gross to me, especially if he's sleeping there after the cat has used it.

Yes I think Stormy is weird to. I have to say he no weirder then my Grandson Tommy and they are a pair. Princess is my Granddaughters puppy and they are two of a kind also. Genius is my youngest Grandson puppy and again like two peas in a pod. It is like they all took on the individual personalities of the child they bonded with.
I have tryed a few different things to get him to sleep else where. Something will work sooner or later. Winter is coming and with that will be the cold and then the pups will most likely start sleeping on the beds with the kids to steal their warmth. I think that will break this gross habit of his.
Her stitches look good today I am watching them closely. I will be taking them out in another 36 hours or so. I do keep her kenneled a good portion of the day to rest. It is usually when I let her out those times during the day to do her business that she plays with the pups. I never thought to not allow her to play so rough while she is healing. Thank you for pointing that out.
Well just jumped online to do some bills and thought I would swing by. Now back to the boring stuff.

I just picked up my female from her spay yesterday she's doing great. She had no pain meds and her stitches dissolve on their own. She doesn't act like she's had anything done..MM
I took Tinkerbells stitches out. I only took out three on Wednesday and the other two on Thursday. I did it like that for two reasons. The first was the fact that Tinkerbell was not a happy camper. I have never had an animal fight me so hard on taken out stiches.
The other reason was it looked like the incision would split open. {That is more my fear then the actual possibility of it happening.} So I took out every other one. Her skin looked puffy more like the stitches were to tight rather then signs of infection. Today scar looks great. I will be glad when Stormy and Princess are finally done.
Hi MM, how is your Mom doing? I think about her often.

Stormy went to the vets this morning and will be home tomorrow morning 'nut free'! I felt so bad for him last night, as I did with them all. As I had to kennel him by himself to keep him from food and water all night. He had a rough weekend and was just getting over it. His boy, {my oldest grandson} had gone camping with the boy scotts and he was a wee bit sad. He didn't get to sleep with his boy on Sunday night either because his boy slept in a tent in the back yard. Now he is stuck at the hosptial without any of his family. Awwww.
