Hi I am sure I will get bash for this. What are your views on the Amnesty for those that came to this country illegaly?

here is my 2 cents

if we allow those that came to this country illegaly how can we enforce our other laws with our US citizens? if this bill is passed, how can we protect our borders? I believe our government needs to send those illegal aliens back to mexico and force them to remain there until they can follow are laws on entering this Country.

I would agree with that PW, I only have one problem with passing a bill that make becoming a legal citizen a huge financial burden to those flooding our mexican border. You see, if it costs that much most wont be able to do it, which sets up our country to become a 'policed' nation with the local foot soldiers (cops) going door to door rounding up the 'illegals'. (oh wait, thats already happening, last month 10,000 hispanic protesters were rounded up by federal agents, and are sitting in a POW camp hidden somewhere stateside, but they arent prisoners, they are 'combatant detainee's')

Supposedly Bushies wife has Hispanic ties which is why he is pushing it so hard.

Furthermore, the reason people are flooding acrossed our mexican borders is mainly due to the fact that Mexico recently accepted funding from World Bank/UN in order to fight the 'war on drugs'. This 'war' is filling our prisons with mandintory sentanced non-violent prisoners rather than being sensibly based on harm reduction and costing all of us a fortune with NO return since the problem is just increasing. Further it turns otherwise 'mafia' type people into seriously dangerous killers because they know their only choice is to kill or be killed. All the while the huge corporate pharms admitted (in writing) to selling oxycotin under the FDA's okay while lying about its addictive qualities, and getting only a 'fine' for doing so.

They ARE the war on drugs.

Whats that have to do with illegal immigration? Read some of the Arizona, New Mexico and Texas papers online. A couple of weeks ago five severed heads were found in a courtroom just beyond the border in a small Mexican town. The week before that anouther towns Mayor wrote to Bush demanding financial assistance to ramp up their police department because a small town on the other side of the border was found to be almost entirely SLAUGHTERED. Almost everyone was dead after an attack by a drug cartelle.

Closing the border isnt a workable idea. In the last 2 years our Federal government was to begin a fence building project to make us more secure. So far only TWO miles have been built in two years. By the time its all up it will be in ruins due to weathering. The feds are only efficent in spending our tax money on a loosing war in Iraq, look at Katrina, 911 and now this. So basicly what the bill would do is allow only the RICH immigrants to enter our country while banning the hungry tired huddled mass's at the gates from flee'ing the US federally funded war on drugs in Mexico to escape with their families in a safer land. I wonder if they will grant us the same freedom when we are running from whoever attacks us. Dont think anyone can get to america to pick a fight? I have heard this from a few people believe it or not. I find it ironic because we certainly managed to get overseas to germany during WW2, Vietnam, Korea.... yes it certainly can happen and we are so vulnerable right now with our guys over in Iraq.

A 'war' is spilling over our borders right here, but you dont hear about it much because thats not what Bush wants us to think about.

I don't think America's biggest worry is Mexico when we discuss border security. It plays a strong role over the years, but there's a new shaker on the table, that will demise America. And we see it now in the last 7 years.

I dont think it is either, but if we are attacked in a serious way by any other country, the chances that Bush and Cheney will attempt to NOT step down at the end of their terms is weighting heavily on my mind.

I think.. the only way for another country to attack us will be with nukes or missles(bus bombs).
The state of Texas alone can defend this whole country if invaded by foot.

Mabey, I hope your right because we may find out soon with all these other countries pairing up the way they are. Our active and reservests are all in Iraq, they better figure out somone for back up incase of an emergency because I have little doubt the women and children will want to get out of the way fast.

I have no idea why I hadn't read this thread earlier.

First I will say that I do NOT want all the illegal Aliens in this country. Oh ya they are hard workers. were I live you see 25 mexicans in a box truck pulling into the store parking lot. They are smelly and dirty and stand there hollaring absinaties(sp) at any girl from age 7 up to 70. They go in with their paycheck and buy cases of beer and cigs.

I also have worked in two stores and yes they spend up to $100.00 on paycheck night just on Beer, they leave and come back within 30 mins to get another case and do that all night.

I cannot get a job on any farm in the area because I am american and would have to be paid at least minimum wage.

The one time I worked on a Dairy taking care of calves. I watched one illegal mexican after another, unable to speak or understand english with their fake soc. sec. cards and Birth Certs. getting jobs. While my fellow americans were being told there was no work.

Another thing, they are allllll gross. Not one of the illegals no what tolit paper is. I am not kidding. They go into public bathrooms and use the napkins to whip the crap off their arz then throw it into the trash. 9 out of 10 times there is crap on the tolit, walls, floor. I refuse to go into several wallmarts on the weekends because of the fact that you cannot get through the isles, they don't get out of your way and have no idea what excuse me means, you cannot use the bathrooms. It is to gross for words.

When I lived up north I had a different view on the mexicans. That is until I came to Florida and had to deal with them on a daily basis.

They take there paychecks and buy property in mexico and send their money home. If you are a landlord here and rent to them you can pretty much burn your home down and start again after they move out. They literally live 4 families to a two bedroom home. They spend very little money in this country, they refuse to learn english, they need to go back to where they came from and build up their own country, crap on their own walls and leave ours alone. I disagree with Bush on this issue big time.

I do not like all the illegal aliens coming here either, but i do not want to pay $5 per pound for tomatoes or pay a lazy American $15 an hour cleaning up my yard either. selfish, I know, but for better or for worse, we need them here.

amnesty is a bad idea thou because it will give them the same right as Americans do which will lid the way to higher wages for them. this will defeat thier purpose and usefulness in this country.

It will give them alot of things americans cant even get actually, including college money. The problem is, the only ones who will qualify for any of it are those who could have paid the huge fee's, not the 'hungry, tired, huddled mass's this great country was founded upon. The federal government and lady liberty are turning them away.

BTW, CNN did a bit last night regarding how the government is allowing millions of business's in the US to issue working passports/greencards to people in their own countries to come HERE to work as they can pay them less than americans. So no its certainly NOT just those from Mexico taking jobs, its the government ALLOWING these business's to practice in this manner. Oh and THOSE people dont have to have ANY kind of anti-terrorism clearence to come and stay for years.

I was watching TV the other night. this news program was talking about a town in Texas all the city ran offices speak Just Spanish.They
allow the illegal aliens to remain. no one can call to report these illegal aliens.So it is very doubtful our government can or will do anything to stop the illegal aliens from entering this Country.

I am not trying to be heartless ,But I believe they should force everyone back that has enter illegaly even if they had children in this country. I mean their children when they turn 18 can decide if they want to be a US citizens or an mexican citizen.

regardless of speech, we all should have one idea in mind and that's to back this great country and abide by our Constitition and Bill of rights if you live here. Right now our own Gov can't even do that.

if a person entering this country without a visa they should be deported back to their own country. Most mexicans refuse to honor or respect our laws. I do believe if you come to this country you must learn english. if can't then you can not claim to be a citizen of the USA.

I agree with you, but there has to be a starting point. And that starting point is now.
Our country had the worst terror attack in history 2001. Now is the time for change.
I agree English should be #1, but we have forfathers who adopted orphaned children all over the world, Milton S. Hershey was one of them and his school is still here today. I'm sure he would be against his Cuban, African, or what have you.. not being an American today. So we have to be carefull not to judge to harshly. Just my Opinion.

And to add this country wasn't threatened by Mexico Sept, 11 2001. We all know by now who our enemy(s) is. So that is the need to change.
