I'm going to be working at the Nextel Booth at the Pocono Raceway for Nascar in June. I need some beauty tips to make sure I am always looking good because it is required for the job. Physique, Clear Face, Perfect Hair.

Anyway, It will most likely be humid, or it may even rain, my hair tends to curl, should I just curl it to go, or is there something that may keep it straight? How do I keep it looking great all day long?

Also, my make up, I tend to break out sometimes, and I was wondering a good make up and also a good regimen before that date to decrease outbreaks. I was thinking proactiv anything better?

Any other tips.

Hi Susie,
I have a tendency towards a more dryer skin, but I have friends that have used Pro-Active and had wonderful results.
If humidity is a problem use gel - something that beats the "frizzies". A hair clip can also be a girl's best friend for bad or questionable hair days.
For make-up with skin that has break-out issues, I recommend Clinique. It is a sister company to Estee Lauder and was created by Ms. Lauder for her son's skin. She expanded into make-up and viola - instant success. I love Cliniques lip colors.
Speaking of lip colors, Loreal has a new lipstick out that acts as a "lip stick tattoo". I tried it and it's true - it really does last up to 8 hours without a touch-up and it looks and feels great.
Keep jewelery (I can't believe I'm saying this - I'm such a jewelery whore) to a minimum. Sterling or gold hoops, a simple chain necklace and a cuff bracelet with a ring or two.
Hope this all helps. Smile

Susie I know this will sound strange but it works. it wont harm your skin take an egg white and put it on you face leave on your face about 10 minutes then wash off this will provent any break outs....have you ever use a hot oil treatments? like vo5? That product might help your hair as well.

Susie, I agree with LL, a hair clip IS a girl's best friend, especially if you tend to get frizzy and you already know it's going to be humid.

I've heard really great things about Pro-Active too, but if it's a little steep for your budget, feel free to PT me and I'll hook you up with a system that is half the price per month, and equally if not more effective. I'm really happy with the make up too---it gives nice, professional looking results.

I agree RR, wearing sunscreen is very important. And I know this will probably fall on deaf ears (it would have me 10 years ago), but the tanning bed/sun bathing are NOT your friends!! You should avoid them both like the plague. And with todays products on the market, there really is no reason to turn your skin to leather. I used to go to tanning beds all summer long and did for about 5 years. But at the same time I had friends (including my younger sister)who were addicted to them and would go all year around. You should see them today. They look old and leathery and although they have a nice tan are paying such a high price for it. I stopped going for that reason and haven't been in one in over 5 years. Am I tan? Hell no! Do I care? Hell no!

I'd rather be pasty white and look 35 (not that I am, but I look it) than be a tanned 35 yr old and look 50 anyday!! And if I know I'm going to be out in the sun for any extended period of time I always where sun screen and/or clothes to cover up with. If I feel the need to have that sunny glow, I simply go to my tan in a bottle and I'm a happy camper!!

Baby fine, and not a whole lot of it. In my old age I've given up on trying to make it do things it is not inclined to do. LOL

I also wanted to say that my complexion's best friends over the years have been SUNSCREEEN, and St. Ives Apricot facial scrub.

You younger ladies, if you will wear sunscreen on your face every day, and also on the backs of your HANDS, when you arrive at my age (47) you will, like I, be mistaken for 10 years and at times even MORE, younger. Putting sunscreen on the backs of your hands will prevent those ugly "age spots" which are really evidence of sun damage. I have worn at least a 15 EVERY day since I was about 25. Even tho I have good heredity for skin as well, I know that has made a difference, that plus being a non smoker.

Right, Crystal. My brother's slut errrrr...girlfriend, tans like a fiend! My brother is about 10 years older than me, but she's my age, maybe a year or two younger, and she looks older than HIM. 'Course it doesn't help going through marriages like underwear either....that's bound to put on a decade or two.

rotflol rotflol rotflol Yep that will do it to you. I have a very good friend who has always been a sun worshiper..long before tanning beds were even around. She would lay in the sun for hours and hours. I used to envy her. It always made me sick to my stomach and gave me a headache! But after tanning beds came, she started going to them all year around. She is 3 years younger than me and she looks much older than me now. She didn't used to. Same with my sister. She's 5 yrs younger than me but you'd never know it.

I loved having a tan..but I just decided that in the long run, it's simply not worth it.

The hair tips are great! Use them. Clinique has great products, however, I break out a lot too and use Mary Kay foundation, it blends better than anything I've used, along with an eyeshadow that compliments your tone and eye color.

Listen to LL and get the long wear lip color, try it out a few days before and gain confidence in it so you aren't constantly checking your appearance.

oI did not state anything but the truth ! Crystal did state that she does not tan in the tanning beds. so what products would she know about that would not cause aging? Why not ask a person that runs a tanning place what is a good product ?I rather ask them what is a better product for the skin , Then ask a person that has not been to a tanning place for years. Products have change since Ms Crystal went.... This is a PUBLIC FORUM Sheltieluvr so I am allowed the speak.... I can say the same to crystal or indi or denise to name a few I did not ask them about tanning but the open their mouths As these nit witt did so if Dals4ever or Susie want to believe crystal and the other hens then I fell sorry for them.... Again Dals ask a person that has been in a tanning place what is a good product to protect your skin and susie ask the person that does your hair about hair products because as you can see from crystal statement you will be ruined for a while .....Sheltieluvr please read below then you will understand why I said not to ask crystal ... I believe the forum would be a nicer place if the BBC HENS was Banned but neither of us will get our wish now will we rotflol Wink.

Oh, yes. You'll stay tan a really long time. Just don't pay any attention to the people at the front desk, tell them that you want double the time, since you (from what I have seen in your pictures) have dark undertones. Using a little olive oil or even butter all over will really help too. And just because they give you the little eye glasses to wear, doesn't mean you have to wear them. And forget swimming suits---just go in there in the buff---they spray it down really good before you got there.

....then the tanning bed will spit you out...so go home and dump orange juice all over you and lay in an ant hill...

That'll get 'er done!

And from my experience, don't pay any attention to the time limits they suggest. They are just being overly cautious. You need to do a minimum of 20-30 minutes, depending on the brand of beds they use. And make sure you get some of that accelerator lotion. That will give you that deep brown hawaiian tropic tan much quicker than without it. Good luck and happy tanning!

I have heard that Mayo gives the best result due to the vitamin A in eggs. I do know it is very important to use pure Lemon juice on your hair as the best form of protection from the UV rays
and you 30 minutes is best for the optimum results

I don't tan but I asked my girlfriend...she said first time to go the MAX and not use anything (accelerators, etc) on your body. They only tell you to start out slow so they can get the extra $$$ for the extra tanning.

You know what PD, she wasn't asking you. She asked for Crystals opinion, not yours. Keep your opnions to yourself. If Dals wanted to know what you would do she would of asked you. People NEVER ask for your opinion, and you keep dishing it out. Want my opinion, this place would be a lot nicer with you not here. That's my opinion, oh not trying to be mean, just wanted to make sure I handed you my opnion like you handed Dals yours.

Hello I was wondering if there were other members on the forum that use the tanning bed..my question is how long does a tanning Bed tan last ? I know when I allow the sun to tan me I stay tan al winter long. will the tanning in the tanning bed be the same?

By the way PD, I wouldn't ask someone on here about tanning beds, I would ask someone that worked at a tanning place.

Tanning beds cause major skin damage. Just compare it to slowing roasting your skin cells to death.
