Oh, yes. You'll stay tan a really long time. Just don't pay any attention to the people at the front desk, tell them that you want double the time, since you (from what I have seen in your pictures) have dark undertones. Using a little olive oil or even butter all over will really help too. And just because they give you the little eye glasses to wear, doesn't mean you have to wear them. And forget swimming suits---just go in there in the buff---they spray it down really good before you got there.

....then the tanning bed will spit you out...so go home and dump orange juice all over you and lay in an ant hill...

That'll get 'er done!

And from my experience, don't pay any attention to the time limits they suggest. They are just being overly cautious. You need to do a minimum of 20-30 minutes, depending on the brand of beds they use. And make sure you get some of that accelerator lotion. That will give you that deep brown hawaiian tropic tan much quicker than without it. Good luck and happy tanning!

I have heard that Mayo gives the best result due to the vitamin A in eggs. I do know it is very important to use pure Lemon juice on your hair as the best form of protection from the UV rays
and you 30 minutes is best for the optimum results

I don't tan but I asked my girlfriend...she said first time to go the MAX and not use anything (accelerators, etc) on your body. They only tell you to start out slow so they can get the extra $$$ for the extra tanning.

Well, I usually tan for a month straight everyday or every other day. The beds my tanning booth has are 11 minute max time, they are mostly stand ups. I highly reccomend stand ups for many reasons :

1. Your not touching any parts of the wall except the floor

2. It doesn't hurt your skin because they have upped the voltages or whatever on the bulbs and they are extremely out and feel like they are burning your skin.

3. When any part of ur body touches the bed ( such as right above your butt ( lower back ) it doesn't seem to tan as well and stays alot whiter.

Best lotion to use: SIREN- wouldn't use any other kind, its the best damn stuff out there.

Also, I only tan for a month straight right before summer and usually with a little up keep such as sitting out in the sun at the beach I will keep my tan until about November from then on I usually only tan once a month until April or May.

Also, tan naked ( really ) because you don't want any gross tan lines.

I do reccomend wearing the goggles they give you, buttttt.. I do take them off the last 3 minutes of my tanning session because I want my face to have an even tan.

BE CAREFUL SUSIE! Even sixty seconds of exposure can harm your eyes! I would suggest going out into the natural sun for a few minutes here and there to get the even facial tan you want. Three minutes with the goggles off sounds dangerous to me.

Susie TY, I want to ask about lotion when I first started tanning. I bought some lotion with bronzer but then I bought this othe lotion called chocolate silk without the bronzer. does the lotion with the bronzer slow the tanning down to you ? or had you ever use that kind of lotion? I like the cholate silk but was told they might not be selling it any longer ,

I prefer not to use bronzer.

WHY:

1. Its a fake bake and it does give your skin a funny shade of organgy brown.

2. It seems like the lotions that really emphasize the bronzer- the only thing they do is bronze and don't really tan and as soon as the bronzer washes off there goes your tan.

3. It can be sreaky if you do not apply it perfectly.

Siren, I do believe has bronzer, but its not a crazy bronzer that turns the spaces between your fingers brown. If it turns the spaces in between your fingers brown, I wouldn't use it. Yeah your going to look tan, but it won't last half as long and most likely won't be as even.

I really enjoy the tingly effect Smile That is my own personal preference. FEEL THE BURN HAHAH.

DC- I know DOX, your so right, I just recently started using the three minute thing because I used to tan with no goggles but my eyes started getting a red rim around the color part of my eye and it was very irritated.

Is the chocolate silk lotion a lotion that gives you a "fake" tan, or is it an accelerator that you use in the tanning bed?
