Do you know how to help others in case of an equine emergency?
Please share your knowledge to help others know when there is a problem with their equine, and help them know what to do until the vet arrives.
This may help someone save their horses life!

The most common I can think of now is colic.
When the horse is rolling around on its back and in obvious discomfort.
The best thing to do is get the horse up and make him walk, do not stop.
Letting the horse continue to roll will end in death.
Call your vet a.s.a.p. when you first notice signs of this and keep your horse moving until the vet arrives.
Always cool down your horse after a ride before letting him drink, do not let him drink when hot as this can cause him to colic, as well as if your horse breaks his way into the feed bin.If your horse ever gets into the feed bin , watch him closely to make sure he does not end up on the ground rolling.

In a bleeding emergency, old towels, tshirts, and cloth diapers (do they still exist?) make great dressings both for stopping the bleeding and keeping the area clean for the vet to suture.
