I used a friends dog to mate with my dog. My friend gets to pick a puppy. Now the puppies are here but he has not given me the numbers and dates to register the puppy litter. he said her dog was akc. Now i wonder!!!!! he wants to come and get his puppy and the puppy is just 5 weeks old. I said no not til we have the reg papers from akc. He says we can do it when he gets the puppy. I also said puppy has to be eight weeks old. We signed a contract he wrote saying he gets a puppy for the mating. What will I do if he doesn't let me register the puppies?!!!! I do not want to give him a puppy without papers!!

Hi, 1st I would make him show proof of papers, which he should of done to begin with. If won't then I would make him sign a contract stating when he will give them to you and if he doesn't then he owes you the money you lost due to the pups not being registered. But just so you know, don't tell him, you can still get them registered through CKC. Good Luck!
Can you contact AKC and verify his name and see if they have any registries listed for him. Explain the situation with the person at AKC and they might help you, if only to tell you yes, they do have something or no. A friend of mine went through somewhat of the same with a pug she bred and the girl was very helpful, but she couldn't give out numbers or anything else.
