Here is a picture of Jacob's turtles. We have had them about 2 years. They were so tiny when we got them about the size of nickles. Any other turtle owners out there. One is smaller as you can see maybe a different kind or gender? We need a turtle expert Wink MM

OHHH a red eared sliders. I had one of those growing up. Man I sure do miss Murtle. He got huge. Right now you might not beable to tell whos who. But heres a hint on the differences, Males have long long nails (sort of what you would think a female would have), the females have the short nails. Yea I know its *** backwards. But there is a reason for it, the males use those long nailes to stroke the females cheeks sort of wooing her. Also on their tails, a female will have a narrower tail, and the male will have well what looks like a growth on the underside. His will be fatter than hers. Its been so long since, I've had turtles that I can't remember when they reach sextual maturity. I can look it up for you though.

Thanks Dals
The smaller one is light orange where the other one is so red being the red eared slider. Is it a different type? MM

I think they are like subspecies of each other. Looks like you have a red eared and an yellow eared one. The links I posted should help you.

Ha. I've got a pet female snapping turtle. I think she weighs about 10-15 pounds. She doesn't like me much though... Lol. She eats raw chicken and fish. It's quite fun feeding her the chicken, though I use tongs so that I don't accidentally feed her a finger... Lol.
