Jacob lost his pet rat(Ben) today. He had been with us for almost 4 years. I think thats old for rat years.Please keep Jacob in your prayers. MM

Thanks PD and Kinzel. At lunch Jacob said he figured Ben would of been snake food if he had stayed at the pet shop. So even if it was a short time with us he was better off. MM

That is very true, and how mature of Jacob to see the bright side of this situation.
He should have comfort in knowing that he saved his beloved pet from a horrible death and short life.
Hopefully he will be ready to save another one and give it a good life too!

Jacob wanted me to thank all of you for your kind words. He also wants you to meet Ed his new rescue from being snake food. Ed is 4 weeks old and loves pasta and green beans. MM

That is GREAT......that turned a sad time, and realized about how his first pet would have been snake food, and now he saved yet ANOTHER little guy. Bravo for him....

Thanks Stacy, prayers for your little guy too. I had a guinea pig when I was a kid. He would whistle everytime we opened the frig wanting a carrot. MM

Sorry to hear your son lost his pal. Glad to see he has a new one now. It is always hard losing a pet, it is like losing a family member.

The new one is a cute little thing, he looks like one of mine, her name is Baby. I have 3 now, a couple of months ago we lost Clyde which was the dad. My rats and mice are spoiled rotten. I do however take their babies to feed my snake. People don't like the fact that mice and rats are used for snake food, but snakes have to eat too. It isn't any different that us eating cows and pigs. Just think of how over run our world would be with rodents if it wasn't for snakes. I have a very beautiful Western Hognose Snake I love him very much as do I love all my pets. I will post some pics of all my pets in the photo area.
