I was woundering if anyone had any suggestions? I just got my first boy dog and he is 5 months old and the breeder said he was potty trained but he is not. He seemes to pee alot, I do not know if this is normal for boy dogs cause I have only owned females, any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks Confused

Boy dogs pee as often as female dogs. Now puppies do pee more frequently then older pets. They get better control and can hold it longer as they grow. I would keep a notebook and mark when you see him urinate, and note the color. After a day of that look at it, and consult a vet. Frequent unrination can be signs of things as simple as bladder infection to something worse.

It's probably normal, but I had a rescue that drank a ton of water and peed more than any dog I'd ever seen. I had my vet check him out and turns out he was diabetic. I never could hurt to see the vet just in case.

I have crated him and he does fine with that but he drinks alot more then he should so i am going to take him to the vet next week if it continues, he is a really sweet Chinese crested male and has a great personality. I hope he is not diabetic cuz i hate shots lol but if he is i guess i can learn to give them too him

i got a male puppy a year ago and it was a lot different than my female. watch his water intake until he is trained , what goes in must come out. crate training is excellant, and dont get him out unless you are watching him, puppy pads with scent on them work well also if he is small. does he cock his leg yet, if not your lucky , mine cocked his leg at 3 monthes. good luck . amanda

If it continues, I would have your vet see him. Bladder or urinary infections are much harder to track on males than females. Good luck.
