think most of us on this list are owned (or soon to be owned) by more than
1 bird.

Here's a little survey to get to know each other better. Totally optional
of course.

How many birds are in your flock? What species? Gender if known? Age if
known? Names?

How did you choose the name?

How did you bring home your first bird? (bought/adopted/rescue/etc...)

How long did it take for you to decide on a second bird?

Is your flock complete or are you still longing for another bird?

If you are a breeder what species do you breed? How many pairs do you have?

I received that survey on my sennie list. This is what I posted.

Mulitple bird sydrome? NEVER HEARD OF IT lol. Is that some weird disese people get?

How many birds are in your flock? Permant residents there are. 13- 4 of which are babies that are up for sale.
What species? 1 senegal, and 12 cockatiels
Gender if known? Senegal- male, cockatiels, males- 4, females- 5 3 unknownsAge if known? Names? Toby sennie 7 yrs, Cockatiels, Babydoll 15 months, Benny-13 months, Juliet, 9 yrs, Dusty 2 yrs, Elvis, 20 months, George- 1 yr, Chip, 10 months, Spike around 6 months, plucky around 5 yrs, Bigbird, littlebird, and lazy bird are 7 weeks.
How did you choose the name? I didn't name, Toby, juliet, or Plucky, those 3 all came with names. Babydoll got the name because she was the first baby tiel I raised, Elvis received his name because he likes to sing, Benny I didn't name my husband named him. Spike got his because he had 1 crest feather that stood straight up, Chip reminded me of choco chips, George got hers because of curious george cartoon, Bigbird, little bird and lazybird are all siblings and theirs are pretty explaintory. Dusty got his because of his coloring
How did you bring home your first bird? (bought/adopted/rescue/etc...)
Juliet was the first one as an adult, and she was given to me, I don't know if she would be considered adopted or rescued.
How long did it take for you to decide on a second bird? I was ready for another within a year, it took my husband about 5 years to come to grips with me wanting another. Is your flock complete or are you still longing for another bird? Not really acitivily looking, but there is always room for more in the house. ok so this one was a mild fib!!!
If you are a breeder what species do you breed? How many pairs do you have?
I breed cockatiels, Right now I have 2 male-female pairs, I have the potential to have 1 more if he deceides he likes one of them.

Well considering there are 43 birds in my bird room!!! It will take me some time to put all that info down. Here is a basic break down.

1 Green wing Macaw
1 Scarlet Macaw
3 blue&Gold Macaws
1 Goffin Cocatoo
1 Greencheek Conure
7 Indian Ringneck Parakeets
4 Love birds
6 Diamond Doves
2 Cockatiels
17 Budgies

And this is NOT counting eggs or chicks.

And soon to join the flock will be
2 Elenora Cockatoos

ohhh, you live in my dream house. Hey I have an idea. You move out leave the birds and I will move in. The hubby has me on a limit Frown. No big birds I.e., grey, macaw, too (but thats for a different reason, he hasn't found one that likes him). I can only have so many tiels simply because I can't have any more cages. If I can get them to fit in the cages that I have. I can have more (which I still have room)lol. Thats his big thing is NO MORE cages in the house. Which in all I guess its a good thing that he does, who knows what I would bring home Big Grin But someday I will have my bird room, with lots of room in it for all the birds.

I have 30 pairs
ranging from macaws to canaries- but only 3 of those pairs are canaries the rest are big birds.
no tiels or keets.
these are all breeders- I do have 3 personal pets- one grey,1greencheek and 1 red factor canary.
I currently handfeeding 2 baby senegals- day 1 hatches which means every 4 hour feedings round the clock- today is day 5- getting a bit tired but better then when I was doing every 2 hour feedings (new formula- instant ounces).

Ok you can leave the 4 siamese cats, the fish tank and the pond outside. I don't know about the 2 basset. The chihs, hampsters, and the mini pins and the ferret have to go with you. They are just too small for my house. My big dog doesn't like smaller animals, and males on top of that. The bassets would probably be ok atleast until I tripped over one or they drooled on me. Yuck LOL. Well lets see how many rooms do you have? I am starting to think you have one of those old LARGE farm houses and you live out in the country. You are making me very green with envy now. Its just not fair. Smile Which everyone would just love to have but they don't come up for sale very offten around here in my area.

Paul and I live in an 9 room house with just us and the animals. The birds have thier own room, so do the dogs, then there are still 3 bedrooms and of course we only use one of them. We have a very large back yard but we are in the suburbs, not in the country. We want to move out into the country so our family can grow Big Grin.
