Went to my friends house for a labor day picnic. She had a 5 month old Blue and Gold Macaw that she called Psycho cause no one could get near him without getting bit except her. Of Course I was told this AFTER I got him out of his cage and had him on my hand cuddling with me giving me kisses and all . So you know what happened. YES I brought him home with me that night. I am calling the bird him until I have it sexed. But I believe the bird to be female because it took a liking to me so quickly and not to Paul. It has been our experience that the female birds take a liking to me first then Paul and the males the other way around.

Ohh Pape. Repeat after me. I DO NOT NEED ANY MORE BIRDS. If I find any more than need my help, I will find them wonderful homes but NOT keep them. I am running out of room LOL. Ohh crap thats me Seriously though, he is a cutie. I am glad you could help him. Pape, how do you find the time to have time with all of "big" birds you have? Do they all get along together? I have no experience in this area, as I only have 1 "bigger" bird, and hes not much bigger than the tiels are.
All of my big birds get along together with the exception of Elmo.. I dont think he knows he is a bird and doesnt like to be around other birds, so he now has his own room. His cage is in my Atrium. The rest are in my bird room.

I forgot to answer your point about time.. well they all share time with me and Paul, except Elmo.. he gets his own time alone with Paul. We make the time, even if it means getting up earlier than we want, just so they remain socailized.

Let me guess Elmo is Pauls 110%? I've thought about getting another "big" bird, but I honestly don't think Toby would get along. That and with the kids being younger, I want to be able to not feel like I am taking away from them. If that makes any sence. I think that is one of the reasons I love my tiels so much. They all get their daily contact, but most of them are content with the talking, expecically my males. I have 1 that is supper cuddly. Don't get me wrong, they all get the option of coming out, and most do.
I would say Elmo is 80% Paul's and 20% mine. He tolerates me when it come to feeding time and for me to clean his cage but still wont perch for me unless he is on the floor and wants up and I am the closet person.

So basically, you get used. LOl, yep been there done that with a bird before. He still does it but is getting better about it. The sad thing is I handfed this bird from the time he was 7 days old.
