quote: Are Cockatiels noisy? Are they affectionate? They may not be as afffectionate towards you as they are a breeding pair[QUOTE] Yes on both accounts[QUOTE] Will cockatiels do okay in a home with dogs and a cat?"
Yes they can do well in the same house The dogs and cats won't be too noisy for them. My birds live with 2 dogs and used to live with cats also. Yes you do need to keep them away from drafts. Just don't place them over the vents, ceiling fans are fine. The biggest drafts to advoid are the cold ones. The other thing you might want to think abour Rayna is are you going to let them breed? If not you might want to look into getting another cage. If you do let them breed, are you going to handfeed? Are you prepared to fit handfeeding into your schedule? Is there someone who can show you how to feed the babies? Also I dont' know how much you sell your poms for. But on an average a proven pair of tiels, cage and box usually run anywhere from $150.00-$200.00 sometimes up to $250.00. Also have you seen the tiels, the box and the cage, the box and cage might need to be replaced. Expecially the box if its wooden. How old are the tiels, how offten have they been alowed to breed? Hope this helps any
Thanks. Yes, you have helped tremendously. I do not want to breed birds of any kind. They are beautiful to look at, but .... Thanks also on the heads up on the price. My male is worth far more than that total. I really appreciate your thoughtful responses. I own this male's sister and mother, so I don't need him. I have a nice little contract that we both like that states I will receive a puppy or my male's purchase price. I think I will stick with that and leave the birds to the experts. I will just admire the photos you guys post.
