I dont breed them but am looking to get one myself. My partner fell in love with one at a local pet store but I refused to pay 500 for a normal greencheek.

The only dumb question is the one that goes UNASKED!!!!

I'd refuse to pay $500 for a normal too- since in my area they sell for $200 tops.
even the mutations except for blue are under $500.

Oh ok ... Thanks Papet
Are these conures typically as loud as most in the conure family? I would love a sun conure ,but they are just too loud.

I cant speak for all conures but it has been my experience that the greencheeks are not as loud nor as noisy as a Sun or Jenday conure.

I remember seeing these little conures at a bird fair and thought my daughter would like one... but instead she decided on an African senegal. He was more expensive but we got it for her anyway. Hes turned out really sweet and funny too... his name is Mojo.. he has the orange belly. Hes pretty quite too considering we room him with a Temneh grey.

Bali,

She hasnt started breeding and selling them yet but the lady I am getting my Scarlet macaw from has the yellow sided green cheeks. That was the first time I had ever seen one and they are very beautiful birds. I will contact her for you if you want. She is located here in PA.. near the W VA border.

Bali,

I just found the breeder of my Greencheek, seems the lady I bought mine from buys chicks out of nest, finishes hand raising them and then sell them. Anyways found out my bird is split to Yellow sided. I noticed in your first post on this thread you said you had gotten some Blue ones, Can you post a pic of one. I have not seen a blue one.

I can't post you a picture of mine - the picture I have is really bad and the blue doesn't even look like a blue so here is a better picture - this shows a blue, a cin blue and the bottom one is a cinnamon

because there are 3 in the picture, I think you can see the mutation coloring better.
when I get a better picture of mine- I will post it.

I currently have a ys green cheek and am I correct that a ys x cinn would produce pinapple?

I am just so intrigued with these birds. I just got my first one, and she is soooo sweet!

These birds love to kiss and lay upside down, what little clowns they are.

well yes and no- if the ys and cinn gene fall on the same x gene, then yes you have a female pineapple but if they fall that one ys is on one x and cin is on the other x, then you have a visual ys or cin but not a pineapple (tricky genes) that is why there are so few pineapple males. even if you breed 2 pineapples together, that is no guarantee of all pineapple babies.
