I know I said I was going to take a break but I just had to share this with someone. I just got off the phone with the Lab. Here are the results of the DNA sexing I sent in.

Zipper.. Goffin Cockatoo..... Female
Ickers...Greencheek conure... Female
Tuck... Blue&Gold Macaw..... Male
Elly... Blue&Gold Macaw..... Female

And last but not least:
Blue&Gold Macaw... Male.. formerly known as Dolly now known as Danny.

which lab did you use?
there is a scam going on that you pay $5.00 and they sex your bird- its all a guess.
I have also had a few that I had the lab re sex because we did not believe the results (new samples with new ids so the lab did not know who was who) and they did this at no charge.
I have been using health gene out of canada-and I was using avian biotech out of florida.
got a surprise- my male african grey who the prior owner as sure had been sexed male- is a girl. we are very happy about that- boys are easier to find then girls so pairing her up should be easier. she was given to us because the owner felt she was not happy- she plucks and is now a beautiful RED african grey. we did have her tested for lead as this can cause red feathering but tested normal. from what I heard- she gets alot more red as the feathers come back- right now she a bare breasted babe.
I'll have to get a picture and post it.
