I was just wondering if anyone else breeds budgies. My goal in breeding is to create the brightest most friendly healthiest birds. If you breed what are your goals. What do you think the perfect Budgie would be?
Here is my flock

Cathy, when breeding my budgies I only have one goal, that is to produce the healthiest birds I can.

The only dumb question is the one that goes UNASKED!!!!

I have a male budgie too!My parents wont let me breed or get another budgie because they dont want any more pets(we have a lot!)But I have an idea on how to make yuor parents trust you.Clean your birdies cage alot ,more then you usually do.Teach him to sit on your finger,(if you dont know, there is all ways google!)and if you want to, try to teech him afew simple words ,like hello, and good-bye.(but,I heard it takes a while for them to learn words, but dont give up!)Visit him often, and show off your smart little birdie to your parents. They will surley reconsider after they find out how much love and care you give your budgie!

If you bring home a second budgie they will bond to each other. Your first little bird will not be as friendly to you. He will become closer to the new bird. Just some food for thought. If this does not bother you then I think it is a good thing.

I am soon going to have eggs in my nest box. I hope that they become hand tame as soon as possible! I also hope I don't have to give them away because I hate taking them away from their mom!
