I have just set up my new 20 gallon long fishtank with UGF, 30 Gallon powerhead, three fake plants, heater and three rocks...

To say that the water is cloudy is a big streatch, but I can see a bunch of what I would call "dust" in the tank. I have had the tank running for three days now and haven't added fish yet. I'm in no hurry as I want to make sure that I do this right so should I:

a) wait it out and let the water clear up doing a 10% water change in the next day or so

b) pull out all of the water, scrub the rocks and plants and refill (boy this will be a pain)

It looks as if I didn't clean up one of the rocks and it was dusty, although I'm sure this didn't happen as I cleaned all of the rocks.

Any advice?

Did you use gravel rocks in the bottom? If so, those would need to be cleaned before using. You can rinse them several times with a sprayer in a colander. I hope this helps.

Hi,
I see your probleme and you can clean your tank but even after you will see cloudy water but to fix that, go to petco-petsmart and buy a red chemical called (ACURELF) its a small clear bodle with red formula inside and add 3 drops per gallon i just do a quarter of the container every 75 gallons. IT WORKS oh and dont use in salt water
