WHEN I WAS IN FLORIDA LAST JAN-APRIL..... I CAUGHT SOME TREE FROGS. I BROUGHT THEM HOME TO MAINE. I STILL HAVE THEM AND THEY ARE FAT AND SASSY. LAST NIGHT I NOTICED ONE OF THEM HAD WHAT LOOKED LIKE BULGING VEINS ON ITS BACK. I PICKED UP THE FROG AND I COULD MOVE THE ''VEINS'' UNDER THE SKIN. I TOOK A SYRINGE AND POKED A HOLE IN THE SKIN AND PULLED OUT A 2 1/2'' LIVE WORM! WHAT WAS IT ACTUALLY? AND HOW DID MY FROG GET IT? AND WILL THE OTHERS GET IT TOO? THE FROG LOOKS MUCH HEALTHIER TODAY.

Sounds like some sort of parasite. You may want to contact a herpatologist, they would be able to answer your questions.
