OMG i saw Spanglish last night. I must say it rivals Ray as the best movie i have seen this year. I LOVED it. I laughed and boy did i cry thru several scenes.
Very WELL done. I am not a huge Adam Sandler fan, but I think he is maturing. His role in "fifty first dates" was getting better, and this one he did really well. I did not care for the earlier Adam, i.e. Billy Madison.

LOL, I was wondering if I was the only one that had seen this movie! I posted about this on the previous page.
I was very impressed also.

My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dogs already think I am.
Well, we went to see the new Star Wars, anyone here into that? wasn't impressed, I just don't get into those, it was the first one I saw. But I totally dig Yoda, even bought my husband the one that tells stories, as soon as I left the movies!! My husband loved it, he's seen them all!
The Longest Yard- I'm a huge Adam Sandler fan and I personally thought this was one of his better new movies. He kinda played the character he played in Bulletproof, butttt... he was so much better. This movie had anything you needed in it. It made you laugh ( alot ) and it made you cry. The whole movie theatre ( sold out ) was interactive throughout the movie, clapping, cheering, crying ect.. I have never seen the originial so I can not compare it. It was an A++++++ movie in my opinion. They had everyone in there from wrestling stars such as goldberg and stone cold all the way to rap stars such as Nelly.
THE AVIATOR: Well, I have to say I had mixed feelings about this movie. I liked the movie itself, but I thought the acting wasn't that great. Leonardo DiCaprio (in my opinion) was not a good choice to play Howard Hughes. He looks nothing like him and I thought his acting was over done. His "accent" and his acting weren't believable.
And the actress who played Katherine Hepburn (can't remember her name), I thought was pretty bad. Totally overly exaggerated accent. I can't believe it was nominated for so many awards.
WHITE NOISE: I'm still riding the fence on that one. It was good in a bad sort of way if that makes sense?
Neither one is worthy of adding to my DVD library.

RACING STRIPES: Absolutely adorable movie! Although it's aimed at kids, I watched it with my grandson 3 times in 2 days. And thoroughly enjoyed it each time. I will be buying this movie.

My sentiments exactly! Thank God someone else thinks the same thing. I did not think Leo did a good job in that and my friends thinks i am nuts. The second half was better than the first, but i agree, he was not the best choice to portray howard hughes.

I watched Hostage last night. Totally AWESOME movie. I was SO impressed. Not so much with Bruce Willis, but with the actor that played the "bad guy" He's gonna go places. Excellent movie. I want to add it to my collection.,

Beyond the Sea (the Bobby Darin story). AWESOME AND LOVED IT! Bobby Darin is almost forgotten today as everyone talks about the original rat pack, Sinatra, Sammy Davis..Dean Martin...Kevin Spacey gets into this role and gives it his all. Yes, Spacey is much older than Darin would have been when he died at 36, but that is what acting is. Portraying someone in mannerisms...Spacey did all of the singing of the Darin songs and AMAZING! I have always been a Kevin Spacey fan but this really locked it in.
PD, I would have chosen Liev Schrieber (the guy who played cotton weary in scream) to play Howard. He looks a bit like him, and is a good enough actor to have gotten the mannerisms down. Leo was just not plausible in that role.
