I really don't know. We are rid of a big problem in that part of the world - a lot of stuff is still going on, but I can't help but feel that without the head a lot of it will die out. No weapons of mass destruction?? None found - maybe weren't much past the planning stage - I can't help but feel that they were headed in that direction. Fifty years from now we might be able to answer that question.

Sure, I'll even put five cents in! Mom always said that the three big no - no's at the dinner table were religion, politics and aids. I will never forget my husband and I staying up very late watching CNN live and seeing the trucks rolling across the desert. It was absolutely thrilling - to be sitting in your living room and being there too! Then the war started getting ugly. We had MIA soldiers. Jessica was rescued and all was right with the world for a while. Then hotels started blowing up. And suicide bombers in cars started blowing up with small children inside of them. Then, I decided to turn CNN off for a while. Then Saddam's two crazy sons were plastered all over the news - dead. Grim business trying to explain to my son who walked in the room when CNN was showing their pictures for the 50000 time. Not too long after that, Mr. Insane himself was captured in a rat hole. Still no weapons found. Was it worth it? I didn't lose anyone I loved in the war, so my opinion is yes, it was worth it. We don't have a draft and our soldiers went of their own free will and love of their country (or most of them did). If I lost a son, brother, father or friend, my answer might be different. But the way I see it is Iraq was entirely too dangerous not to take Mr. Insane off his throne. It had to be done.

LL - I kind of agree. Lost an Uncle in WWII - Dad was wounded in same war - close friends hurt and/or dead in Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia - and a whole bunch of places inbetween and right up to now. Came real close to having my brother's plane flown into my brother-in-law's building on 9/11 - One brother career Army [ret.] - other brother in Navy Reserve. I think the question of WMD was valid - if they weren't there, they would have been as soon as that idiot could get them together. It should have been done when we were there the first time. I just hope there is time for the area to stabilize.

I agree it was worth it. I have not yet lost any loved ones in this war, however even if I do, I will still believe it was worth it.

Hey now! Lol. A rat wouldn't let him in! They have dignity too! I agree, if it wasn't done now, and a few WILLING lives spared, it would have been done later, with UNWILLING lives spared. I have a very close friend out there who I consider my brother, and yes, I worry about him, and wonder how stupid he was to volunteer, but then again, he wanted to, and I haven't heard anything bad from his family yet. (I told him not to send me mail, because I never get around to mailing people back, and it would make me feel bad.) I must say though, I agree with the war and all that, but I just want my dern brother back! Lol.

Wow! how selfish of you Kerack to not want to mail him back! And you say he is like a brother to you? I feel sorry for anyone who gets you for a sister! Shame on you! you really are imature and self centered!
I agree. It was absolutly woth it. Very well put Kerack! If we wouldnt have done anything, another 9-11 was bound to happen. These people want ALL Americans killed, they are willing to kill themselves so long as we die too. I can only imagine what would have happened if they continued to have the power they did.

Self centered? Because I didn't want him to feel bad about me not writing to him? Honestly, when I try to write back, I normally end up with about 25 letters in a notebook, but I never send them, because of one reason or another, and most of the time, I just give them to the people when they get back. If you'd like to carry on further conversation, sign in, because I don't like talking to some random idiot online.

Oh goodness, yeah, it's disgusting how they teach their children to go and blow themselves up too! Just like Vietnam, when all those men were forced to go there and fight, then when they had to kill the little kids that were trying to suicide bomb them, they came back and were spit on because of it!

Who do I think I am? Someone who has enough balls to stand up under my own name, and stand up for what I believe is right. I have a learning disorder, and I have a hard time 'representing' my more 'intiment' emotions, so when I write a letter (I always do it at night when I'm more 'emotional', because I just can't write letters during the day, I dunno why, but I can't) And then in the morning, they just look so stupid (this is when I'm less emotional) that I just don't end up sending them. There, now you know how my mind works on that subject. And snot? I guess if that's your word for confidence in myself and what I say/type, then I guess so, since you don't have the balls to.
