Just as the title says. If you were President what would you change? I`ll answer AFTER a few replies, not sure how this one will go...

OK, I`m going out on a limb here but this was some of my ideas.

1)People on death row: Instead of leaving them there for 30 years, offer them a deal for their life. If war breaks out, take them to that country, drop them out, and while the helicopter is leaving dump the ammo out on the ground for them. If they live, then they are pardoned but can never return to the states.

2)When acreage is about to be sold to developers for houseing projects, I think the government should by it all up and use for a food sources. If our farm land continues to be developed into shopping centers and housing developments then we are sure to die from starvation if we have to depend on other countries for food.

3)Take all illegal immigrants back to their home.

4)Welfare: This program was designed to help those in need. Why have some families that have lived on welfare all of their lives. I think they should only be allowed to be participants of this program from a 6 month to one year period. That should be a sufficient amount of time for someone to get back on their feet. There is a WIC program for the children which can continue to help them after their time is up if need be.

5)reinstate public hangings, if the crime committed is beyond a shadow of a doubt guilty.

6)laywers: Most people can`t afford so why can`t the judge decide or offer a jury trial in any case. Lawyers should only be needed for the high tech stuff when corporations are involved or workmens comp.

Those are just a few that come to mind at the time.

7) filing taxes yearly. Why do we have to? The government set up a table exempting so much per dependent. Everything that is being taken out according to the chart, we should not owe or get back. We should be even and not have to file.

8) No taxes after a person has worked more than a 40 hour week. Anything after 40 hours should be tax free...

9) Property tax: Everyone paid taxes on property when they purchased maybe it is time to do just pay a yearly set maintenance tax per hosehold to help keep up highways, county facilities, historical sites, etc.

Would the no taxes after a 40 hour week apply to military? My husband works over 80 hours a week in the hospital here, and we get a set pay. about $700 every two weeks. $300 a month is an allotment for our car payment (thankfully this will be paid off in two years). Plus $300 for debt consolidation. We need to eat...buy diapers, vet bills, and pay phone/cable bills. There just isn't enough, and no one really seems to care about how crappy the military is paid. It's horrible! I wish he got overtime...we'd be rolling in $$$!

If I were President, yes that would include everyone but good point for military cause I think there should be extra benefits there. I will have to study on that one...

10)I also think that electoral votes shouldn`t matter when it comes time for re-electing a President. It is suppose to be by the PEOPLE`S vote.

Everyone should work and pay taxes up to the age of 50 after that age everything for them is free, that would give elders something to look forward to other than dieing.
could you imagine? All the people on vacation,skiing,mountain climbing,sailing canoeing,sky diving being old and us being jealous wanting to reach the age of fun,

Bar-B is right about the death row inmates. They sit in prison until they're 80 and already half dead. The only problem is that just to act like they are better than the entire U.S., they would try to sneak in...I mean if illegal Mexicans can sneak over here on boats(I agree with Bar-B about sending illegal immigrants to their own countries), what would stop a criminal?????

"what defines a criminal?"

You find animated gif files and right clik on them and then just 'save picture as' in your picture file or my documents, whichever you prefer and then you insert it here as a picture..you can also do that in your emails, websites, etc.
I haven't figured out if you can put wave files on this talk forum but they are lots of fun to play with too.
We gotta play, it keeps us young...
