I love the afghan pap. Did you use a pattern? If so, was it difficult?

I made one afghan, it's called a scrap afghan and you crochet each row with a different color of yarn. I'll see if I can find a pic to show you. The bigger the hook you use, the bigger the gaps between the rows. I tried several hooks until I found one I liked the look of (when I finished a few rows).

Nice posts Pap.

Boo, Yes I used a pattern. It wasnt that hard, you have to count each stitch and it gets monotonous but well worth it. I have a couple of pattern books and used one of them for that afghan.

actually my first crocheted project was a rug made from sheet fatory ends. I taught myself the different stitches one day while visiting my sister. She use to make the rugs so while home alone one day I took some fabric and tried and was successful. I will post pics of some of the rugs when I get my camera.

Something that helps eliminate TOO much gaping is use two strands of yarns. It helps fill it in, and it is much plusher. Smile

for my afghans and potholders and such I prefer to use an H or a I hook. One of my favorite stiches is the half double, I use it alot.

I wish I knew how to knit! I was visiting a friend of mine in Omaha a few weeks ago and she had just got done knitting a scarf for a friend of hers. It was so cool! I think I talked her into knitting me one for Christmas! When I was young, my great grandmother taught me how to knit, but unfortunately, I don't remember how to do it. Frown
