I'm left-handed - everywhere except on the computer. I do draw, paint, build stuff, write articles for magazines, etc. My memory is pretty good. I'm also a bit dyslexic - which I didn't figure out until I was in my 20's - so I read slowly and spelling is bad. [Flunked spelling tests in 4 languages.] Most of my spelling problems were blamed on me being left-handed - E and 3 were hard to tell apart - It was 'cause I was "backwards" and used the "wrong hand". Dad wouldn't let them change me, a good thing, but I got a lot of static at school - I'm glad that things have changed a little in that department. On the computer - I used to use the mouse on our old Apple IIgs with my left hand - worked well, but now since we've gotten this Dell and the mouses [mice?] have all those buttons and stuff, I've learned to use my right hand - I even draw on the computer right-handed. My left hand can't work a mouse any more.

Apparantly not. You misread ads and you lie about people who befriend you and then you complain about the trolls when you are one of the biggest ones!! YOU have what is known as a convient memory--if it's convienent for you, then you remember. Especially when YOU LIE!!

"On the computer - I used to use the mouse on our old Apple IIgs with my left hand - worked well, but now since we've gotten this Dell and the mouses " YOU can place the mouse on the opposite side and use your left hand if you want--you can also buy a wireless mouse and use it all over the place. Just general information.

You can reconfigure your mouse (the cliks) for a left-handed person as well in your control panel. I use the wireless and use it with both hands just to keep in practice.
Lefty Two - Yeah - But I was using my daughter's computer and she was using the mouse right-handed because they wouldn't let her do it left-handed at school - She didn't mind so I didn't make an issue of it - I've learned to use it right-handed also - what surprises me is that I can draw on the computer right-handed just as well as I can on paper left-handed. I can't draw on paper right-handed - I can print fairly well and write legibly, but not draw.

My husband is left handed and he put the mouse on the left side of our pull out tray.At first it was werid for me.But I have gotten used to it now and can use my left hand to draw and work on my photos better than I can with my right hand. As far as memory he has selctive memory like his hearing.

hehe---I thought ALL husband's had selective memory..lol (mine sure does too!!)
The only thing I can come up with is that the world is organized for the majority - who are righthanded - so people who are not like the majority - those who are lefthanded - may be more susceptible to accidents, because the environment is not optimally designed for them.

South Paws be prepared!
People who are left-handed are twice as likely to suffer from bowel disease than right-handers are, claim scientists. A study of more than 20,000 people in the UK found that the risk of inflammatory bowel disease, usually Crohn's disease or Ulcerative Colitis, was double in left-handed people. Although the prevalence of left-handedness in the general population is around one in ten, 21% of the people found to have inflammatory bowel disease were left-handed. The research, done by a team at the Royal Free Hospital and University College in London, comes after earlier studies showed left-handers are at increased risk of other conditions such as Asthma and Diabetes. "The reasons are uncertain and speculative," making it a shoe-in for a Health Mystery!
I'm left handed. I have EXTREMELY nice handwriting. But poor cursive, only because I never use it. I do have a good memory, but compared to my husband, anybody has a good memory. He can't remember directions or which way we came from 2 minutes ago!!
And as far as the diseases in left-handers: I don't have bowel disease. I don't have asthma. I don't have diabetes. I don't have any diseases AT ALL! Well, except poor eye sight, but that isn't a disease.
BTW: I also sure the mouse right-handed. Never tried left-handed since EVERY ONE is always set up right-handed, I never thought to use it any other way.
I don't have any of the diseases mentioned either - probably come from somebody trying to switch you to right handed - or trying to figure out how to get something made right-handed to work left-handed.
My mom said that when I was in elementary school, many teachers tried to convince them to MAKE me use my right hand. What is the different if you are right handed or left handed? Its not like you are driving on the wrong side of the road. Why is it even a topic? Are you only allowed to chew food on your right side too??
Maybe there are more right handed, than left handed because people force kids to write w/ their right hand.
