Maybe there are more right handed, than left handed because people force kids to write w/ their right hand.

I think you are rigt---I am ambidexterous (don't know how to spell that word), but I can use both hands the same. I think there would be more people able to be left-handed or at least able to use both hands well if they weren't forced to use their right hands from the get go. Smile

The school wanted to change me, too. My parents refused to allow it. The excuse was that it's a right handed world and switching was necessary to 'fit in' - they've learned better since. I switch hands a lot when doing things that involve hand tools. I've already explained that my right hand works the mouse on the computer - my left hand could probably learn but it's not worth the hassle.
In some cultures being left handed makes you 'unclean' because you use the wrong hand to wipe your behind and then shake hands with it.

obvious guy says.. of course... the professionals have been saying thing like this for years....
the objective thought i have for you today is not what hand you use.. as that is more of a symtom that a cause..

it seems to point/ask which side of the brain is more dominant...i have both.. so im logical and creative all at the same time... do i draw.. no! can i see things in my head before others.. ussually...

find your forteit and use it.. if its drawing .. great.. if its not.. then find it.. there is no chart to tell you what you are... you are an individual/ you were when you were born and you still are today.... focus on being yourself/ finding yourself... ps that doesnt mean go into the jungle cause thats not where you belong...( ie ; it doesnt take drugs.. and sexuall exploration... it takes thought and trying thigns.. thinking.. and even basic medidtation in regards to your life....meditation can be descibed as a nice way to say deep thought.. following through all the way to a sulotion or new ending.. even if its only in your head and your life never changes... try going on a trip by your self to a place you wont be bothered by the typical constraints of your life.... turn off the radio / tv fro awhile..
you wil find yourself in a new way....!

good luck!
you own yourself.. now use yourself to your satisfaction!!!

I am a lefty too. My son who was born on my birthday is also a lefty. He writes left handed but does everything else right handed. I do everything left handed but I can write with both half way decent. As far as creativity goes, I did folk art painting for many years, also stain glass and woodworking. But don't through an algebra problem at me - never understood it. CJ

The old saying is that: 'Left-handers are the only ones in their right mind'.

I switch off pretty regular when using tools. The only time I've really had problems is when somebody who is righthanded tries to show me how to do something lefthanded. I often can't figure that out. Sometimes getting righthanded things to work lefthanded is interesting - never could get a hand trap for clay pigeons to release for me if I was throwing lefthanded. Things like that.
I usually mention to anyone watching me use hand tools or fixing something that I'm lefthanded and that it will look awkward or odd to them, but that I'm used to it and I'll do just fine.

Another lefty here. I think one of the reasons growing up teachers wanted to make left handers switch is it is easier to teach them to write and such. I had the same problem with teachers, wanting me to use my right hand. My parents said NO!! I envy you guys who can use both of your hands for writing. My short term memory sucks, but I can remember some of the most inane facts. The long term memory isn't too bad.

I'm left handed, people say I write very neatly but I can't draw for crap! As far as memory, I can remember so many things, but my short term memory is a little tarnished.
