These are some of my phobia`s. Is this a norm or do I need therapy? Do you have phobia`s? If so please post.
1) Sometimes I look under the bed before I go to sleep just to make sure there are no spooks under there. Now I have a water bed so I don`t have to look anymore.
2) If I here an unusual noise at night that sounds like it is close to me. I keep my eyes closed and sometimes put my head under the covers. I will stay that way until I fall asleep.
3) I`m terrified of mice, frogs, and snakes, but OK with hamsters. I will crawl on a table to get away from a mouse.

Hi Barb: I like your solution to #1 and I agree with what Cat said. I don't like going to sleep with the closet door open...I have this silly fear that someone might be hiding in there if the door is open a bit. I also get paranoid when my husband isn't home and keep both doors locked. I have a terrible fear of scorpions and what's worse is I live in the country and there are plenty of them around here. Ugh!!

Sorry but i couldn`t help to laugh when you talked about the closet door and locking the doors while hubby is away. ME TOO!!!! With all the pooches around you would think I would feel secure. I did get a little bit over of my fear of heights. About 4 years ago it took me probably an hour to get into a dear stand. I made my boyfriend leave so he wouldn`t laugh at me. It still takes me a bit to get to the top but as long as i have something to hold onto I am pretty good but you should see me try to get to the top bleacher at a baseball game. I almost crawl.

Maybe it is because someone is always around me, but I love to be alone. Then, sometimes for no reason I will suddenly think of supernatural things - ghosts or whatever. Then, it is like I can't get to a light fast enough. It is really bizarre because most of the time I will walk in the dark or treasure a night alone.
OK Bar B NONE of your phobias are weird!! If you want to know wierd. MY phobia is fear of throwing up! Me or anyone around me! So if anyone thinks their phobias are weird read mine!! hahaha

I still on occasion try not to step on a crack. You know "Step on a crack break your mamas back." I still look for four leaf clovers even though they never worked and quit carrying rabbits feet when I was little. they didn`t work either. Nor does crossing the fingers...

Weird? Mine is wierd, lol! I HATE applesause! Not just the taste or smell, but just seeing it in the grocery store makes me want to throw-up (sorry marie, lol). When I will younger, I had to take pills because I got some kind parasite I got while camping. It only came in the pill form, and I could NOT swallow it (I was only 7 or so). So ... I mashed it up and put it in applesause. It tasted DISCUSTING! Now, I cant even think about it with out feeling nausious and getting goosebumps. A few years ago I was in a cafeterial, and someone next to me had applesause ... I had to make a trip to the bathroom, lol I have even talked to the doctor about it!
I also have a phobia about driving. I HATE it! And hardly ever drive.
i have a fear of conflict funny to hear a guy admitting that, but i do i have to leave or scoot back into the corner when my pals start something up i dread confrontation i dread doctors, any kind of doctors appointments at all
Mine is anything covering my face or having water in my face ie: swimming underwater or such. Never had a problem til unknown problems cropped up during a surery.....now, I would fight the devil to keep even an oxygen mask off my face. I do try to desensitize myself by putting something over my face and making a conscious effort to realize I control it and can take it off whenever I want..... How do y'all try to deal???

i have to have my feet covered up to be able to sleep at night, even if its just with the sheet. That sounds so silly to me, but even in the summertime and I don't care how hot it is, i have to cover the feet. The most ironic thing is that i walk around barefoot at home all day. Go figure. I guess that would be considered a phobia?
wondering- I have to be covered up no matter what season it is, and I don't sleep well unless I sleep with a down comforter! It may be 90 outside, but I will turn the air down (colder) and sleep with my down comforter. I don't feel comfortable with just a sheet.
StarWhisper...apparently my sister hates them too! My youngest sister had surgery two Mondays ago and my other sister went to visit. She couldn't stay long b/c she couldn't stand looking at my sister and the drainage tube coming out of her head. So my mother walked her out to her car b/c she had to leave the room several times and didn't feel well...she fainted on the way to her car! I don't think she'll ever want to go back. I, on the other hand, would love to work in a hospital and I love helping people. My plan was to originally go back to school to get my Masters but now I'm rethinking that plan and I think I will probably end up going to nursing school and hopefully eventually a nurse anesthetist. I can't wait! I do know a lot of people that don't like hospital or blood.
To cat and wondering, for me I have to have a blanket and my feet usually stick out with no cover. That is so ironic! Maybe I`m not so off my rocker after all!

StarWhisper- thanks for your kind words. Funny thing about Mary, my middle sister (fainted), is that she was in and out of the hospital when she was really young because her lungs collapsed several times. I thought she'd be used to the hospital but apparently NOT!
