Almost all cemeteries not for profit or for profit cemeteries offer above ground burial in a mausoleum. It is a very affordable way to be buried. Most people do not realize how much in ground burial costs to compare the average burial at most cemeteries is about 8,000 Dollars. Some cemeteries offer above ground burial for two people at a cost of 5,000 and up. I have worked in the cemetery field for about four years and above ground is the way to be remembered.

we beleive in birthdays and christmas's, and we beleive in god or jesus, but we dont go to church is that wrong?... everyone has their own faith everyone has their own religion. if everyone was the same it would be a very weird world.

everyone is also entitled to their own thoughts and ideas.

as long as they dont go overboard. like some of these church's who beat the children and abuse them in all different ways.... and have their congregation working for the church full time and alot of them the congregation are going bankrupt cause all of their money is going to the church THIS ACTUALLY HaPPENS!!!!
and then the congreation has to go to councilling cause they think their PrEACHER is god!.

Not to sound mean, but this is why people need to use their brain and not look to a church leader to make their decisions, or let them decide where they go or what they do.

To answer your question is it wrong you do not attend church....who here is qualified to tell you that? It is my personal belief that no, you are not in the wrong. There is a huge difference in being spiritual and being religious. It is a very common mistake to think the two are one and the same. They are not i assure you.

I am very spiritual in that I take my faith in the Lord and Jesus very seriously. HOwever, that faith that I have is personal and i do not adhere to any orthodox religion. I think all religions hold some truths, but I have not found one that I belicve to hold ALL truths. Fact is, we do not know what all of those truths are. Therefore there is no one religion that can be right, and there is no one religion that can tell you if your going to church is wrong or right.

What does that mean? It means every individual must decide what feels right to them. I can worship my Lord in my own home. My body is my temple. SOme people need the leadership of an organized religion. I do not. I am very strong in my belief in myself and my God. I am very offended when religious people try to tell me I will go to hell for not attending church.

Those with minds of their own know how ignorant such a statement is.

My christian ex in laws tried this mess with me all the time. They could not stand jewish faith, jehovah witness, catholic - basically anything other than their own was WRONG. So just to p i s s them off when they said I would go to hell if I didn't get my butt into church I told them okay i will - and attended a church of their opposing faith.

Was that a trivial thing to do? Maybe. But it allowed me to learn about another religion and to teach a small lesson to them that churches come in all shapes, sizes and religions. It was to show them how ignorant such a blanket statement of "if you don't go to church you will go to hell" really is.

It's ignorance and I won't tolerate it.

I am a bit annoyed by Jehova's Witness as well, not because of their faith but becuase of the knocks on the door.

HOWEVER, i have to give them thier props. They get off their rear end and try to spread the word that they believe in. They come on a bit strong, but I admire their conviction and the fact that they are willing to take their personal time to spread the word. When you look at it from that angle, you tend to be a little less annoyed.

In other words, their hearts are in the right place. I am always polite when i send them on their way. I know a lot of people get very irate with them becuase they don't want to be bothered. I try to remain very nice and I always make it a point to tell them that I admire their tenacity to their faith. As long as the ones I come in contact with are respectful of my beliefs, I remain respectful in return. That is all I ask. Smile

I will just add that I know of many people who allow religion to become a burden. They carry God around like a weight to bear, and I disagree with that type of belief.

I am not a religous person, we live next to a church and have never attended services. I myself live by a 'treat others how you would like to be treated' credo, but I don't do it in the name of God, I do it for my fellow man.

I still have many questions re: faith, creation, and the like to know what I absolutely believe, but if God is out there, I think he would want us to be enjoying the time we have, instead of stressing over the specifics.

Did you ever tell your in-laws that because of their rejection of the Jewish faith, they were, in fact, rejecting the one that they worship? Jesus, was, is, and always will be Jewish.

Next time someone tells you that, ask them if they think that the sick and infirmed, the handicapped, those that have needs that the church can't meet, such as blindness (can't get a ride to church) will also be going to hell. People need to get off their high horses.

BTW--great comeback with the church attendance!

Exactly. And you can't burn a soul, so if you want to be cremated, no harm no foul.
