Are You An Alcoholic?
Ask yourself the following questions and answer them as honestly as you can.

YES NO
1. Do you lose time from work due to drinking?
2. Is drinking making your home life unhappy?
3. Do you drink because you are shy with other people?
4. Is drinking affecting your reputation?
5. Have you ever felt remorse after drinking?
6. Have you gotten into financial difficulties as a result of drinking?
7. Do you turn to lower companions and an inferior environment when drinking?
8. Does your drinking make you careless of your family's welfare?
9. Has your ambition decreased since drinking?
10. Do you crave a drink at a definite time of day?
11. Do you want a drink the next morning?
12. Does drinking cause you to have difficulty in sleeping?
13. Has your efficiency decreased since drinking?
14. Is drinking jeopardizing your job or business?
15. Do you drink to escape from worries or trouble?
16. Do you drink alone?
17. Have you ever had a complete loss of memory as a result of drinking?
18. Has your physician ever treated you for drinking?
19. Do you drink to build up your self-confidence?
20. Have you ever been to a hospital or institution on account of drinking?

If you have answered YES to any one of the questions, there is a definite warning that you may be an alcoholic.

If you have answered YES to any two, the chances are that you are an alcoholic.

If you have answered YES to three or more, you are definitely an alcoholic.

Yes, I hope a certain person can see themselves in that post. When you can SEE an alcoholic OVER THE COMPUTER, you know it must be bad! If your behaviour and demeanor changes so drastically that people can tell over the internet, wow, you are truly in trouble.

Stop killing yourself. Self medicating solves nothing. Seek help. Do it for your loved ones, if not yourself. You deserve to be happy. There is no problem that a drink cant make worse!

You must be able to admit you have a problem in order to get control of it and seek help. You must want help. We wish we could help you, but only YOU can help YOU. Alcoholism or no, YOU are responsible for YOUR ACTIONS.

Take responsibility for your life!

Sorry this is viewed as a negative thread!
A member here is in real need of help. Looking at the two people who have posted negative to this thread you must know who this thread is directed at.
So instead of making negative comments to this thread, be a network of support!!!

DC don't fall into this crap . I find it strange how people beat around the bush, instead of coming right out and say who they are referring to. I know my way is is blunt or harsh but at least the person knows how I feel

<Why humiliate?>
Posted
Well, obviously the initial poster(s) think someone here has a serious problem, and are concerned. Why in the WORLD would you think it is appropriate for them to name the person who they are referring to? Why would they do that? To embarass and shame the person? If this person truly has a drinking problem, do they need to be humiliated by having their name posted on a forum such as this? How cruel are you people? The person knows the post is about them. they probalby know they have a probliem. Now lets hope they realize that people care and maybe they can get help. if you dont know who it is, then its none of your business. If you know who it is, then you would realize they need serious hellp.

Hello! the reason a person would say the name is to avoid this bull that is going around.example why state that it denise or DC or make it seem that way because they responded to this post? Do you have a problem with being up front? it seems that you do. if I had a drinking problem and I don't know that I did. I would love to know by someone that sees it. you can do it is a tasteful way. This Topic to me is just being down right cruel.

What is stupid is this whole topic! Oh You rather have someone sugar coat things instead of being honest! No I don't know who your are referring to. Again if I did they would know how I feel it is called being honest just because you say I don't have couth or decorum does not make it so! you know what I think the person that brought this whole topic up is hmmm how shall I say this . They are petty! Get some back bone pt the person and tell them they need help. instead of posting this on a public forum!

Haven't got a CLUE who you're talking about. My point is--NO ONE LISTENS TO TROLLS! Let alone respect their opinion, so you're wasting your time trying to "help" anyone, whether they be your friend or not...I'm thinking NOT--since REAL friends wouldn't publically humiliate someone like this.

I'm not Rose, you idiot. You've talked to me on the phone, remember? Denise! My name is Denise! Not Rose, not Darlene. Man, you're stupid.

I sure don't want you naming names. I'd just like to see you grow some balls and sign in. You're obviously a member here, since you think you know this other member sooooo well, that you can tell that they're an alcoholic OVER THE COMPUTER. Do you see how ridiculous that sounds? That's because it IS ridiculous.

You don't live with that person, you don't see how they live their life---none of that! You don't even know for sure what GENDER they are!! Do you get it now? Stop making accusations that you have no clue about.

Not to mention the fact that you don't even care if they overcome ANY problems in their life, let alone the problem of alcoholism.

While we're asking---HOW CRUEL ARE YOU? Posting crap like this on a public forum to a faceless person to humiliate them? P.S. Just like YOU said---IT'S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Big Grin

No one need tell you how cruel these people on here are, have you read any of the threads? Surely you must have a clue!

And as for the alcholic person or whatever they are, just about every single person on this forum has a problem of some kind, though not even one person would dare admit it to themselves or the public, and esp. not in this place.

Capish?

You know this is called the most dysfunctional forum for a reason. Every one on here is certainly dysfunctional in one way or the other.

If the original poster truly wanted to help someone and not just "stir the pot" so to speak, then there are more tactful ways of doing so other than posting crap on here. Of course this is the place for crap, after all.

Yes, this is a very senseless and cruel thread. You anonymously claim you want to "help"? BullS*it. Are you that stupid to not realize that anyone who has a problem as severe as you claim doesn't already know they have a problem?? GEESH! Do you really think YOUR advice is going to help them? I seriously doubt it. Do you think that YOU are so important that your "concern" is going to make them want to get help?

And on the other hand...what type of pyschiatric degree do you have that gives you the audacity to backyard diagnose someone over a computer??

Sounds to me like you (and your buddies) are the ones with a problem. You are making assumptions based on what?? Maybe because someone has an opinion that differs from yours, or maybe they don't type as well as you, or maybe their grammar isn't as good as you think it should be? Or maybe they disagreed or argued with you or a friend of yours and this is your sick way of coming to their defense?

Get a life! And while your at it, take that backyard pysch degree and throw it in the garbage because it obviously has failed you.

If this so called person has a drinking problem, they are probably in denial therefore will over look this thread. Posting anonymously hoping this person will read it is really pretty stupid. The best thing is to talk with this person or if nothing else pt them. If you truly cared that is what you would do. the person probably will read this thread and think it can be anyone but not themselves.
