Has anyone had any close calls on the highway or interstate by distraction in your car? Kids, spouse, flying annoying insects etc?

I have a couple of cute stories, but luckily no mishaps.
When my boys were very young, I used to "pop" them with an old worn out bedroom shoe - the really soft floppy ones - no pain. I would take it in the car. They still laugh about sitting in the back seat arguing, while I would grab that old shoe, reach behind me with one hand (one hand still on the steering wheel and eyes on the road) and start swinging that shoe back and forth. At the time I didn't care which one I got as long as I made contact They thought it was hilarious - "Mom on the edge". Because I am not a drinker, I am always the designated driver. One night we stopped by the local doughnut shop. After doughnuts my husband said he would drive. I told him that was not a good idea. As we left the doughnut shop, with me at the wheel, I ran right over the median. Abortion Stops A Beating Heart |

NOT a distraction in my car but was about to be in a collision because the OTHER driver was not paying attention while talking on his cell-phone...I`m going to get one of those bumper stickers that says, "SHUT UP and DRIVE."
"If your not in it for life, get a stuffed animal." |
