I've basically been hiding out in my apartment since 9/11. I know that I have overblown this whole thing in my head and that the risk is low, and statisticallly my chance of dying in a plane crash are low, bla bla.
I think I may need help. anyone have advise please let me know.
Hi! I was so scared to fly myself. My husband and I went on a cruise last May and this was the first time either one of us had flown. My husband didn't think nothing of it,but I was willing to postpone our trip and drive to Florida. But, I decided if I was going to dye, that it was my time to go there was nothing i could do about it, because I could have died driving to Florida also. I totally sympthize with you, but there is one website I did go on called Fear of Flying and it gave all the different sounds a plane makes and everything. On our way down to Florida I could bearly move I was so scared. But, on the way home I sleeped the whole way. I don't know if you have ever flown but its not as bad and you sit and think it would be. I would sit and dwell on it for hours before our trip. I hope this makes you feel a little better, I know sometimes no matter what anyone else says don't help, but I hope you don't let this stop you from enjoying your life!

the security at the airlines is not really going to stop terror. I live near san francisco airport and the airplanes sit loaded with passengers about 30 years from the freeway. All some lunatic has to do is shoot a shoulder fired rocket at one of the planes and its game over. Im surprised that with all the security to prevents nutjobs from getting *ON* the plane, that the same planes are like sitting ducks, totally exposed on the runway.

if you really think about it, not much has happend to hurt people in the u.s. in the last couple years other than 9-11. I think its all mind over matter. get out and play

I have a way to deal with such fear. I put a card in my wallet that says 'Get OVER IT!!' and whenever I fall into doubt, I reach for the card and read it and move on! It works try it!
why must you fly? there are so many other forms of transportation these days. Is it only your fear of flying here or are you literally hiding out in your house? Just asking for clarification. I would prefer driving and have no fear of flying. Murphy's law in action--if it can happen,it probably will. Roll with the flow and don't worry about it. Me, I just would forget about flying--it's a big hassle to fly anyway. hope this helps
I know exactly what you mean i was quite close to the world trade on the lower westside when it happened and it frightened the hell out of me. i wouldnt go out for ages i just stayed in and watched tv. til one day after watching so many clips of 911 over and over on the news it suddenly dawned on me, THE GUY RUNNING THE COUNTRY WAS THE SAME GUY FLYING THE PLANE. Seriously Dont worry there will be no more attacks,the very fear that you have is the reason why this new order has come about,if you believe in God then when your time comes you ll go open armed. DO YOU NOT SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING TO YOU? Dont be controlled by fear or you will give away your power. Pray and be done with it.
