And you would be wise to not count your one blessing before the Vote in Canada or elsehwere either 'cause the numbers are far from 2/340. Anyone running on 1/4 brainpower should realize that some breed standards have been changed to suit whoever was 'in power' at the time.
If the Merle pattern is voted out this round, it will be brought back into the breed in 30-40-50 years, well after you have hung up your Boa and Show Lead, so chill out, history repeats itself. This is merely one vote in history.
If I were George and some of the other Merle breeders I would get started on a "book" now, right after the Vote, but with color photographs and accredited photographers so this whole silly argument doesn't arise yet again as to who did what, who bred what, who gave who their first pup, who is who, who is not who, and who cares?

Sirius went on and on with the Katie ordeal... defending Tanya's actions, defending her position with the CCA and her role with the CCA, and how we were all suit happy. Went on in posts about who she is and what she does, went into detail about all his emailing to Tanya... over the theft and use of a photo and what Tanya said. Then Sirius said couldn't take it anymore, so Sirius "CALLED TANYA" Well... Tanya's post this week says... "I DON'T know a Sirius" and "have never spoken with a sirius"....

And none of this really matters, as it's all up to the vote. JMHO. When is it going to happen and when will we know? I find it interesting as I know some Dane people are interested in allowing Merles to be shown. Seeing a similar process in another breed is quite fascinating, and thanks to you all, entertaining at times.
The ones I have talked to seem s too, maybe that is just my stomping grounds. I have tried my hardest to talk with as many breeders of merle breeds as I can.
I understand, and that is good that you do research. I think that they may seem to be able to discuss it with more ease, as they are more accustomed to conversing about it. I still don't get it, why not divide the classes. That way anti-Merle-ists can show thier dogs and not bitch about the pro-Merle-ists stealing points, and fight it out in breed. After all, in this non-political dog show world, I'm sure that there isn't a judge who's going to say,"oh, it's Merle, therefore I shall put it up." On the flip side(note the sarcasm,)"Oh, it's Merle, goodbye!"
