Kendall and I have been busy .So far this year.
She earned her UCI Intl CH.(which is way too easy). Her UKC Grand CH.
Her HIC on sheep.and her Rally Novice title just last week.
She will be 2 in a few days.Goes in for hips and elbows in a few weeks.
She is now working on some AKC points.
I'm hoping to put some points on her before Dec.
Plus Daphney is coming out to do Rally.I'm pretty sure with no training we can get our RE.

Here she is after earning her RN.

Congrats on the accomplishments!
clap
I was thinking about looking into UKC shows here ... I looked into them in AZ but there weren't any I could find that included Chis. Would be good experience for me (and the dog) since I am a total klutz and hopefully the DOG is more the focus as opposed to WHO is on the END of the lead and how accomplished they are at handling! I'm a novice having only handled myself a couple of AKC shows and with a dog that HATED it so it was not a good first couple of experiences!

I have heard there are a lot more UKC shows for Chis in the Texas area ... which isn't far from LA should I land there!

Anyway, good luck with your lovely dogs (I LOVE Rotts but no big doggies for me with the Chis, wouldn't be comfortable with that myself)! Do come back and share your wins and photos. Wink

Chi's are in Group 8 so if that group is offered the breed is offered.
UKC is a fun way to start.Even some of the biggest UKC haters brag about thier CH's even on the UKC and OFA web sites.Kind of funny how they talk bad about it and how easy it is.Yet they themselves brag about it.
It's not as hard to become a CH in UKC.A Grand CH is harder.

Thanks for the info DD, I'll look for that group!

You are right, some people are rather ridiculous, aren't they? I know exactly what you mean about the UKC CH thing.

I was thinking UKC and Int'l shows would be a great way for me (and the dogs) to get some ring experience and see if I can get to feeling more comfortable and then try the AKC shows again. I have some physical limitations due to accident injuries that make me feel unsure of myself and nervous. But I know with me being uncomfortable and nervous it doesn't help the dog to relax and enjoy him/herself so if we are both nervous well that won't work. My poor Velvet when I showed her, it was raining that day, Chihuahuas HATE the rain, I was nervous and uncomfortable and she was literally slinking around the ring (she did do a little better the day it wasn't raining) ... anyway the whole thing was just embarassing! blush

Yet I still have that strong desire to do it again! LOL, what's up with that!?! Reminds me of when I used to perform (singing) ... I wanted to do it but every time before I was to go on I would get physically sick to my stomach ... one time I almost missed my cue as I was in the bathroom sick right up to the last minute! LOL, I don't know, glutton for punishment I guess!

I suppose sometimes the dream is bigger than the nerves tho and that keeps us moving towards the goal, whatever it is. That's how I feel about getting my dogs back in the ring. But thankfully I do have a friend to show AKC for me until I can get myself more comfortable with it as she loves the ring and has done it for many years and is really good at it. But I'd REALLY like to get that BBX medallion one day so that's my goal, to do it myself and be good at it - or at least not trip and fall and make a total fool of myself! Big Grin
