The latest OFA results are in for the Choice litter. #5 is hip elbow and heart normal. Eye test is pending.
The tally so far:
3 OFA hips EXCELLENT
2 OFA hips GOOD
5 OFA NORMAL ELBOWS
5 Heart Normal
4 eye normal with one pending
1 AKC CH Multi BOB Gr. placer (at 2 years old)
1 CAN/UKC/Int'l CH Gr placer, BOB over Specials, needs one major to finish
1 Multi BOB winner who needs majors to finish
Not too bad for my POC bitch and the ill advised breeding to Shaka, eh?

That is wonderful!
I am curious about your nutritional plan or supplements you raise your pups on. We all know genetics plays a key role in development, but I believe nutrition plays a role also.

I am a long time raw feeder. The dam of this litter and all the puppies were maintained, weaned and raised on a raw diet. Several puppies have been kept on raw, and all are supplemented with raw food on a regular basis.
I use supplements from Nature's Farmacy.

Milton got his CHIC number today.
CHIC is the Canine Health Information Center. In order to get this number, each breed club decides which health testing will be required.
For the Rottweiler, the dog must be screened for Hips, Elbows, Eyes, and Heart. The results need not be passing, the health testing only needs to be done, and the results disclosed, whether normal or abnormal.
Milton is the 3rd member of the Choice litter to acquire his CHIC number. So far, 5 members of this litter have normal hips, elbows, and heart. 4 are eye normal, with one eye test pending.
2 more pups from this litter will be accomplishing their health testing during 2010.
Some say the proof is in the pudding. The Choice pudding is turning out very nice so far!
