I remember way back in '94, being horrified that St. Bernard's had the highest incidence of hip dysplasia at 34%. And that wasn't even all the dogs. Because so many people see by prelimns by their vet, that the dog will never be usable for breeding, and don't send them in. Now it's up to 46.7%. It's hard to say whether more people are sending their x-rays in, or if the problem is getting worse. I would hope it is more honesty that has produced the higher number.
