Hi everyone...it's been a while since I've visited but had to share my new addition. He was 8.5 weeks old in this photo and has had his ears cropped since this was taken.

He is. He was down in the pasterns in this picture but they have come up with some bone meal since these were taken. I know it's going to be difficult to show a plain but he is also going to work...tracking, obedience, and agility.

Thank you...I hope he does well. He will be in his first puppy match in 2 weeks just to get him used to it. His breeder suggested the bone meal for his feet and ears and it's worked.

Some are here because they hope to make a difference, others like to roll around in the feces. You'll be able to "sniff them out" in no time. -DJ's Doxies,

Thanks HuDare. I'm not expecting a lot since it will be his first time in the ring but it will be a learning experience for him.
His ears are coming along nicely and at 14 weeks he already weighs 30 lbs. This boy has a lot of bone and is just stout. He looks a lot like his sire without the flash on the face. He's already started tracking on his own so we are going to start training with him. We are going to start introducing him to the agility equipment early so he is used to that too. He starts his obedience class on the 11th and I've started working on sits and downs with him....his sits aren't bad but just like his sire, he's not impressed with doing downs...LOL

Can we see a picture of him with his ears done?
I was at a three day outside show last weekend attending to a meet the breed booth, and while watching the Rotts show I saw my first ever Rott with a natural tail. What did I think? Hmmmm....I am gradually warming to the no docking process and this may be something we will all have to do in time. Those that go into the Ring with undocked, uncropped animals have to be applauded for going against the norm in my view, however I still think I prefer the cropped/docked look.
Yep, good luck with him, he's very beautiful, tho I don't know much about your breed's standard, I do know a nice looking dog when I see one and that's a handsome looking fella!
I'm a big fan of brindle!

Thank you Paw (C)....He definitely has a nice topline and this boy has lots of bone. You should see his bite...nice and straight top and bottom. From the picture it's hard to tell on his pasterns but they have come up nicely and look MUCH better. I need to get Mike to take some more pictures of him. His first match is this coming weekend which should be interesting to say the least....LOL I'm excited but it's going to be so hot.

I have to get his breeders husband to take some more for me....he takes amazing pictures.
I have a Boxer girl with a tail....I prefer docked...her tail is like a whip and hurts like h*ll when she hits you with it.
This is the first one I have cropped since I'm going to show him, my others are rescues with the exception of Mason and he's white so he's not breed standard so he stayed natural eared.

It's just hard for me to get past floppy ears and tails on some breeds. A Dobie goes from an intelligent alert looking "guard" dog to a goofy hound looking dog just by virtue of floppy ears.
And as Bxrs said, the tails on some of these breeds can actually REALLY hurt!
