At the GSP specialty in Southern CA Greta was WB for a 4 point major!!
Greta is the daughter of Scout and was bred by me and my husband.
I had a feeling she would do well this weekend. Her co owner wants to wait awhile for more shows so she can mature. Cant wait to get the show pic!!

Excellent Julie!! But what did hubby say..??

What a great feeling that must be to have bred a dog and it takes a 4 point major, already!

Congrats.

He came into the house and I yelled GRETA GOT A MAJOR!! PEOPLE TALK dung ABOUT OUR DOGS BUT THEY ARE KICKING BUTT!
He got all excited and said OH YEAH SO HOW MANY DOES SHE NEED NOW?? I say um she hasn;t been shown these are her first points and he looks at me confused.
And say Ah who are you talking about??? I tell him Greta! You know Pumpkin?? He says in a disapointed voice, "I thought you were talking about Scout" Confused
He thought I was looking online and found out she got a major going BOB! LOL
So he was thinking she only needed a few singles to finish.
He is weird. I told him what Faye has been saying about the dogs and he said "she doesn't know what the hell a good dog looks like. Why dont you talk shit back to her?" LOL
I am making him handle dogs tomorrow. Pepper can fly so he is taking her.

Actually Von, those are GHS's..not GSP's..dontcha know your own dogs???

Now that we have that cleared up..

At least hubby didn't say again: "I told you we should have kept her"... Beside, Scout is doing amazingly.. Pepper's going to take some points..she's just excitable..but she's sooo nice. Do let "us" know, how it goes..keep in mind she could be "pet" only though..o.k.? LOL

I remember you telling me that before ... that a bunch of people told you your GSPs would not be competitive, and yet you chose to breed according to your own ideas and not follow the crowd and breed to the popular stud/lines in the area - and I think that's great you are showing them what's what! SOME people get a few champions and act like they are the ONLY source of information on how to breed and choose a good dog, and that is such a crock! dung

I'm proud of you girl! You go!!! clap

BTW, what ever happened to PeeWee? He's such a beautiful color and a lovely boy. Wink

P.S. I saw something posted a few weeks back, I'm not saying it exactly like it read, but the idea is something like what follows.

There are three stages of being a breeder/exhibitor:

1. You are a newbie and the current fanciers welcome you to the shows and into the fancy because they think your dogs will help them get their majors.

(My own observation is some also want to sell you THEIR dogs and tell you just what to do and how to breed, furthering their own name).

2. You start to beat the older fanciers and they start to get angry and talk crap about and snub you.

(Again my own personal observation, they REALLY hate this even MORE when you are not doing it with THEIR dogs and are not marching to THEIR drumbeat but are making your OWN breeding choices!)

3. Your dogs are so competitive and get so many nice wins that the fanciers who once welcomed you, then snubbed and talked crap about you, now kiss your butt to breed to or get one of your dogs!!

(The thought of this stage in particular tickles my fancy! Even tho I haven't started to get these wins ... YET ... I HAVE had a show breeder with some very nice dogs who once harassed me over merle recently write asking me about getting a show prospect because my dogs are so nice ... thought that was kind of fun!Big Grin)

LOLOL, does any of this sound familiar VON? rotflol

Yeah the first do! LOL
So many people love Mo but I dont think they will ever want to breed to him because they dont like the guy that my dogs come from. They all say he has beautful dogs but he is an ass.
Before I bred Scout I was told that someone said I should not breed her. No one wants competiton.
A well known breeder wanted Mo but then I decided to keep him.
