So, I'm pretty sure that is what I'm dealing with.

My 2 pups have been having issues iwth throwing up. Well not exactly throwing up...more like a burp that brings it up to the throat and I see them swallow it down. This went on for a few days, then stopped then on again. They seem to have quieted it down now, but it still leaves me with questions.

The vet had them there for a few days, said they never had an episode, yet when I got in the car to bring them home, one of them did it right in the car.

They have been checked from the tip of their noses to the tips of their tails. Perfectly fine. No worms or other parasites, I even went as far as having barium w/x-ray done to check for Mega E. Everything was normal.

The vet suspected I was feeding too much, so I cut them back, they still did it. Cut them back even more, still the same result. Well it got to the point that they were eating 4 teaspoons of food and I thought to myself...no way, this is not the reason. So I increased the food again.

They are eating Pro Plan Large Breed Puppy soaked up. I really don't think it's the food because they were doing this while they were still nursing. So, I'm puzzled.

Any ideas?

Do you think this case might have been motion sickness? My dogs get car sick.

You are sure it is not the food? The food may not be the cause since they have done this since nursing, but maybe a formula for sensitive stomachs might help? And they ALL do this?

Are you sure they are vomiting and not regurgitating? I ask this because after doing some reading it stated regurgitation should not be confused with vomiting. Vomiting is the forceful expulsion of the stomach contents, preceded by drooling and retching. The material vomited is usually sour smelling, partially digested and stained with yellow bile.
Puppies that gobble their food and immediately exercise are likely to vomit.
This info was found in James Griffin Dog Owners Home Veterinary Handbook. MM

HB, I have a girl that did the same thing when she was young. I would take her to work with me everyday, and the second I would stop my car in the parking lot, she would burp up "stuff"..it wasnt the normal puppy car sickness. She would also do it around the house for no apparent reason. There was no Mega E, etc. I just attributed it to brachy syndrome, and she eventually grew out of it.

Thanks everyone. They are getting better about it...it only happens every now and then. I just wondered if anyone else had experienced something similar.

I would keep them calm for a half hour after they eat.

Let us know how they do and what your next step is.

Most puppies go into a food coma after they eat. Keeping them calm is not a problem after they eat. You can almost set your watch to their schedule...

1. They eat
2. They poop
3. They pass out
