My golden retriever has a rash of some sort (very likely caused by the stress of a new puppy in the household ) on her inner thigh areas and she is making it worse by chewing. Can I put a human ointment on it to relieve the pain and itch, or maybe just wrap the area with gauze? Or do I need to go to the store or vet for a specific animal medication?

I would suggest having your vet take a look. There are so many things it could be, there is no way you would know what medication you need. And you could easily make it worse.

Take your Golden to the vet and have them take a look :-)
