I just got this email from a friend of mine and thought I'd share the info. It's for today.
"I just heard on the news that there is a new virus suppose to download a program on all infected computers tonight. They are telling everyone to just shut down their computers for the night. I had a friend tell me that if you run your clock a day ahead for the night and then back tomorrow that your computer won't ever show the time on it when the virus is suppose to activate. I have already run mine ahead. I don't know if it will work but I think it will. Good luck."
I'm setting my clock up, but who knows? I figure it's better safe than sorry.

I'll tell you what I did --- I set my pc to sunday and yes, I would do all of them unless you have a great virus protection and/or you can afford to lose data if it doesn't work.
Sorry I don't have any more info on this. I'm waiting for my friend to email back, but she might have turned her pc off anyway.
I've had a virus before and I lost everything and some of it wasn't replaceable. No fun and it took a long time to completely wipe out my pc and start from scratch. I had to put the hardware, software, and all the drivers back in and I lost anything I had saved.
If you have a backup system, my advice would be to go ahead and back up everything and put it on zip. I don't have a backup system on mine, so I don't have much choice.

go to this link and read and see which worm you have and download the fix then reboot your pc should work if not, perhaps contact that site and ask for help.
get a good virus protection software, i recommend norton--it has free updates and keep it updated when you download, always perform a virus scan before installation
They offer a free trial norton on that site also, so you can try it before deciding if you want to buy it.
