I picked IBM..
Dell and Gateway both have too many restrictions on what you can do to your computer without voiding the warranty.
Apple I simply dont like.
And Sony is just too expensive.. your paying for the name.
The only dumb question is the one that goes UNASKED!!!!

My brand isn't up there. But I do have a hewlett packard laptop. My regular PC is an AMD Anthlon and I've had it for years (since 2000), just did some upgrading and added some storage and memory, but it still works great. The monitor crapped out on me and I had to buy a new monitor a while back, but otherwise, no complaints.
