Ok, so I'm trying to illegally download a movie. I have good reason though! I have an english paper due, and I have to compare the old Stepford Wives to the new. Problem is, the new one won't be out on dvd until november. so i've downloaded the movie, and i try to play it, and it tells me "Error downloading codec." Anyone want to clue me in on what that means? and how do i fix it? any help would be wonderful!!!!

well, i downloaded the codec it needed, but it still wouldn't play....i downloaded it from kazaa...it was just a black screen, for like five diff ones i downloaded...so who knows what i'm doing wrong, i just told a techy guy in my eng class that i'd pay him five bucks if he burned it for me lol...

For the error thing, you have to convert the film to an mpeg file. You will need a program to do that with. It's compressed in a divx file code 4, which is heavy compression. You might be able to use AVS Video Converter to be able to view the film.

The $5 to burn sounds like a good deal, too though. Hope he does it for you. I'll see if I can get it from Kaaza. If so, I'll give you the specs if you're still interested. Might help for downloading other movies.
