Hesaid - Don't hide! I often wish this was my old Apple IIgs - I had a lot more fun with that one and I loved Appleworks - This Dell does a lot more and has bunches of options that weren't even thought of then. But I got the feeling that the Apple Liked people - this one - sometimes it seems like it is just waiting to pounce.
One of the things I don't understand [actually it's one of the many, many things I don't understand about computers.]: The files on here seem to be 2 to 3 times larger than the same file on the Apple.

Wow I never knew about that but could i take this opportunity to let you know that Apple has come quite a way sinve the Apple II I think youd be in heaven with a ibook.
Just a thought.

On file size: if I backed- up something with the Apple, I could get a whole bunch of stuff on a small disk [3.5?]. But if I back-up the same type files now on this Dell [usually letters] I can't get very many on a disk. Is it the difference in the formatting?

I have a CD/DVD drive, but no burner. I can play movies on here - or music - or run programs. My daughter has the burner on her laptop, and she can make nice CD's for me from the other CD's I have - That way I don't have to keep changing CD's to listen to the songs I want. She plays around with CD's the way I used to with the VCR.

For deleting cookies on Internet explorer go to the menu at the top of the screen, select Explorer-preferences then cookies at the bottom of the menu. For AOL select AOL-preferences then WWW and in that section you will see cookies, select, then delete them. The steps are the same with most others. Its in preferences.
Seen the g5 yet? My friend just bought one he got the lowest spec model for film editing and said they're aint as much of a difference (in speed) to the dual g4s.

you can copy away... no problem.. if you need a link, let me know, I can provide that as well.
I work for a large mac reseller so I see the new machines first hand. The low one, a 1.6 is nice... the 1.8 is nice too, but we just got in te dual 2.0 and its very very nice. I seen the product developer rip a dvd in just a few mnutes, I was impressed.
I had the dual 867 when they first came out last year, and then I sold it and really regret it now. then I had a iMac and it was ok but the 15LCD was nice. Now I just ordered a new eMac and that should arrive Thurs, its a 1Ghz model and only a 32mb video... but its something to hold me over until after the wedding.

These Trolls are funny Ha Ha, Anyway I wanted to know if they're ever gonna come out with a G5 powerbook. I dont think they can squash that processor in to a laptop yet cos it has about five fans to cool it. I have (and am in love with) my 1ghz powerbook(lightning speed)and a Ibook.there is now the Aluminum powerbook 15inch. I knew they would do that because it was a mistake to make the thing out of Titanium the hinge cracks, im on my third one that was my only problem, otherwise its great also theres a security leak in Os9 switching to Osx thats why theyre tryna get rid of it. Its funny how they dont let you know these things, they just discontinue them. Maybe i'll buy a few to sell later on when they are discontinued there are bound to be people who need OS9.

Yea... I wanted to take the plunge and buy the new Albook 1GHZ, but I just dont want to drop the 2K right now... I know they are good.. im just too cheap. Same with the new g5.
As far as the G5 n the PB, I think it will be sometime next year, they have alot of issues to work with suck as cooling and power... but they'll do it.. no doubt in my mind.
