Do you have a video card in your pc that will hook up to RCA jacks?
If not, you will have to get a video card that is compatible.

IEEE 1394 is an international standard, low-cost digital interface that will integrate entertainment, communication, and computing electronics into consumer multimedia. Originated by Apple Computer as a desktop LAN.

And you say you have apple fire wire as well?

But you own a compaq, correct?

I just want to make sure I understand what you are trying to do---you are wanting to hook up the camcorder to the computer, is that right? If this is correct, the hookup should be on the back of your computer. If you don't have a video card, then you will need either a video card that is compatible or a USB Instant VideoCD cable/cord or a Pyro A/V Link box.

You could take the camcorder to a computer store (that deals in compaq computers) and tell them what you need. Be sure and tell them you don't have a video card hookup for the camcorder. They will be able to tell you which part will work, so you can hook up the camcorder to your computer.

If you look on the back of your computer, there might possibly be one on there. If your camcorder cord will plug into it, then it is there because that cord won't plug into anything else on the back of the computer. It is an RCA or S-Video jack on the back of the computer.

Since your computer is only 3 months old, go thru the book that came with it and see what it says in the specs....take that book with you to the computer store if you don't find the jacks on the back there.

If this is not what you are trying to do, let me know and I'll see what else I can figure out. Good Luck!!

I forgot to mention, the apple firewire and the IEEE cord are for apple computers, i.e. macintosh computers.

If you have a compaq, it is not compatible with macintosh parts.
