Why would Verizon continually 'port scan' my computer even after I asked them to stop????

I highly doubt that its verizon itself as a company, but I am willing to bet money that its one of verizons many users.

Prolly a customer who has a virus infected PC and is not aware of the situation.

Please jump in and add some light to the question ampugs has asked, I am sure your very experienced in this to know that i do not know anything. So please.. explain away, then I also have some additional questions for you. If you think you can handle it.

It sure looks like it was Verizon - it keeps coming up with all the same numbers - a couple of times right down to the email address of the tech at the final computer. It does bounce around a bit first. Here > Tulsa > Kansas City > Chicago > Los Angeles > Philadelphia > Newark. I'm getting so I recognize the numbers and location co-ordinates.

But the ones that worry me are the ones that seem to knock me off line - the only trace I get is the first one - looks like from my keyboard to my modem not even as far as my internet provider [I'm not sure I'm using the right words] the first three on any trace I make are always the same - and from the little pictures it looks like its from my keyboard to my modem to Indiannationinternet [INI] - then from there they go different places, but about half of them end up at Newark or at another location north and east of Newark - I don't know how close three decimal points locates a position.

Well, I would call Verizon then, or start with your provider.

If its kicking you offline, then something needs to be done.

If you have to call verizon again, ask to speak with one of the admins. Chances are the techs may not want to deal with it.

But, YOU didn't help her. YOu only told her to do what she's already been doing. She did ask for help from you. Not my fault if she doesn't see you for the way you really are, mac guy.

Advice and guidance is also considered help.
Example.. YOU go to a shrink and talk about how much of a asshole you really are. In return, the shrink tells you that YOU are hopeless and that you should kill yourself.
The shrink would still charge you their rate as their guidance did help you.
Now do us all a favor and follow the instructions.
