I have spent most of the day arguing with PageBuilder [a sitebuilding program for a Geocities ProPlan domain] It will not upload new files. I can do most of the things to the site, but I can't get into File Manager [nothing happens when I click on it] I can't upload files [nothing happens when when I click on that either], and I can't access 'help' from PageBuilder.
It suggested downloading Internet Explorer 6.0, disabling the pop-up blocker, emptying temp internet files, & emptying cookie cache. Did all that - it didn't help.

If I can't get the site to work - I bought the domain - can I take the domain elsewhere [to a different web hosting site where the programs work and rebuild the site? [PageBuilder worked fine at first except that some of the dialog boxes didn't have the options they were supposed to have - then it gave me static with this one pop-up for add-ons that keeps getting in the way - now it won't upload any new files.]

oletom - I already have my domain name - and there's no provision for transfering it. I'll have to look into it a little more.

mac guy - If I change hosting sites do I have the rebuild the whole site? Or would it be better to just change to a webhosting site at Geocities and use SiteBuilder - which is a whole lot easier to use in the first place.

I am not sure about the whole page builder thing as I have never used it. I create sites on my computer and then upload them to server space.

When I transfer sites for customers, I download the content and then upload to my servers so nothing is lost.

Geocities might have some FAQ's on this.

mac guy - PageBuilder does have some FAQ's about using the program - but they haven't helped. I think they've made changes/upgrades and my Windows 98 is just loosing compatability in little bits and pieces. Their SiteBuilder works the way you describe - you work offline and then upload the whole thing. You helped me with that when I first started trying to put the site together because nowhere does it say you have to have a 'webHosting' site. It just won't upload - at the time it didn't even say why - of course that was back when I didn't know the difference between the 'address' box and the 'search' box and couldn't even find my site until my brother mentioned the difference. I'm getting better, but it takes a while to teach this old dog some new tricks.
As long as I can get around the glitches, it's useable - I imagine in about a year I'll have to make some major changes.
Thank you for coming in an helping with my problems.
