I thought it would be fun to start a thread on what your service was about each Sunday.
Today our Pastor was talking about Destiny - using Paul (Saul) as an example. Here you have a man who was extremely well educated in Judiasim and was a BIG persecutor of Christians. Walking along that road, he heard a voice calling "Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?" As we know, that voice was Jesus. Look at what happened - Paul became an apostle for the Gentiles - it was his destiny. A great example our Pastor used was from Corrie Ten Boom - our lives are like a tapestry - one side (the back) looks like a mess - the front is beautiful and this is how God sees us.

Do you raise Poms by chance?

Thank you. I have a friend who has the pom named Mufasa, used to be Ch or something. I'm sorry I don't know much about dog shows or how they work. I just think he was the sweetest dog ever! He never barked either, but he got very excited at treat time. He was the cutest and smallest doggie I ever got the privilege of meeting. Good luck with your poms.

Dirt Digging Days Are Over was the subject by Jesse Duplantis ... I love to hear him preach.
Today's service was about storing up treasures in Heaven and realising that as much as you have today, it will mean nothing after you die - you can't take it with you. We also asked for prayers for our son Tanner who is on new medication for his ADHD.

Don't go to church much but I have a very personal and fulfilling relationshp with my God. So, no sermons for me on Sundays but I will remember your son, LL, in my prayers. My grandson has had a rough life because of ADHD that went undiagnosed for quite a while.

Thank you. He was mis-diagnosised with autism when he was two, then another mis-diagnosis of PDD - NOS (in the autistic spectrum) and now ADHD. I feel sure that they have it right this time. He is such an awesome, smart, sensitive little guy - and I'm president of his fan club.

The service today was about "Who Are You?" Do you show one face to everyone else and have another at home? Nathaniel Hawthorne had written something about this - how very confusing it would be after a while. And we are all guilty of it. But it was a great service.

The service was about being committed to Christ once you make the decision to become a member of his church. (As in getting baptized and following the teachings of Christ. ) It was great!

Go wreck your own thread - this one is about church. And this is the LAST TIME I will be responding to you on this thread - no matter how outrageous your next post may be.

LL are you studing for your missionary work what will you say to the person that has less then you? I sure the heck hope you don't make them feel less of a person because they live a simple life.better bone up on the bible
This is NOT a respose to the non-Christian comment made above - this is about an incredible email I just got from a friend of mine who lives across the street (we are 70% born again in our neighborhood). They don't attend the same church as we do, but they just had a youth mission trip to Mexico for 10 days, and I want to share just a couple of experiences they had. My girlfriend's two sons (whom I love as my own - ages 14 and 16 went). Their bus driver was saved after being with them for 3 days. The kids (only the boys) went to the local jail and 3 boys (including my guys) gave their testimonies. It broke the stronghold on that prison and 25 men CAME INSTANTLY to give their hearts to God! When they were leaving the prison, a prison guard came onto the bus and asked if they could pray with him for him to receive the Lord. I want to quote a couple of sentences directly from the Youth Pastor who took the kids to Mexico - this is an email he sent to all the parents: "These kids have experienced something miraculous. They are going to come home changed. They will have an enthusiasm to share God with everyone and most of you back home have never had an experience like this one. You will not understand what has happened. They don't want to leave here. I believe several of these kids will end up permanantly in the mission field. This is not the same group of kids we came with. We lost your kids. They are coming back, changed forever." Isn't that wonderful? Doesn't that bless your heart - hearing TEENAGERS having such an experience - not only for themselves - but the unchurched in Mexico? I know I got a little carried away here, but I had to share this. I can't wait to go on a short term (10 days) mission myself.

there is nothing christian in anything you say or do purfect nightmare...
i don't go to church often, seeing as how I'm not Christian, but when I do go its normally at Christmas or Easter or some other holiday. My ex's mom goes to a nondenominational church that I LOVE, it's called RiverPoint, and it was founded by the drummer from Hootie and the Blowfish...its very musically oriented, constant singing and music, and at the holidays they pull out all the stops. The christmas spectacular is absolutely amazing! The normal band (of about fifteen people) and then they get strings and saxes and all kinds of stuff....man I can't wait for Christmas just to go see that LOL!

Hey GW don't wait - go this Sunday. Or whenever you can. We are a non-denominational, Bible believing Church, we have incredible music - drums, guitars, flutes, trumpets - even bongo drums! My kids are so crazy about the music - they get up on their chairs and dance, raise their arms and bellow every word to every song. It's wonderful to watch them - my parents dragged my brothers and sisters and I to church when we were kids (Episcopal) and I hated it. I behaved so badly - I feel so sorry for my Mother.

well, i like the atmosphere, and I like the church, but Christianity really isn't for me, it just doesn't "feel" right, trust me I've tried, its just not gonna happen. I think Judiasm would suit me better than Christianity would (I've researched both exstensively), but for now in my life I'm happy with my relationship with God(ess).
