To understand why God permits so much suffering, we need to understand the issues of sovereignty. What is sovereignty? It is supremacy of authority. Because Jehovah is the Creator, he has the right to rule over the earth and all who dwell on it. However, the bible explains that early in human history, Jehovah's sovereignty was challenged. Satan the devil claimed that Jehovah was unduly restrictive, that the has lied to our parents about what would happen if they ignored God's law and did things their own way, and that it really would be better if they governed themselves apart from God. Genesis Chaperts 2,3.
If God had destroyed the rebels right away that would have demonstrated his power but it would not have settled the issues raised. Instead of destroying the rebels on the spot, Jehovah has allowed all intelligent creation to see the outcome of rebellion. Through this has involved suffering, it has also afforded opportunity for us to be born.
Furthermore, at great cost to himself, Jehovah lovingly made provision that humans who would obey him and exercise faith in the ransom sacrifice of his son could be freed from sin and its consequences and live in paradise. If necessary, this could be by means of resurrection from the dead.
Allowing time for settling the issue has also given God's servants opportunity to demonstrate that they are capable of responding to God's love and proving their integrity to Jehovah under all circumstances. The settling of the issue of divine sovereignty, along with the related issue of human integrity is vital in order for there to be proper respect for law in the universe. Without that, true peace would never be possible. *
*These issues and their implications are discussed in greater detail in the book Draw Close to Jehovah published by Jehovah's Witnesses.

I do agree with you on some of the points you have made, however I am not a Jehovah's Witness. My mothers best friend was however, and she was a wonderful friend to our family.
The part about your religion, ( Jehovah's Witnesses) that bothers me is you do not pledge allegiance to the flag. You do not believe in fighting for our freedom.
The ironic part is that by being blessed to be American citizens, Jehovah's Witnesses are afforded the freedom to choose their religion!Blood has been shed and is still being shed so that you may worship who, how, and what you may.
The other part that really disturbs me is taking Christmas, and Easter away from a child. When these two holidays are a very special part of childhood. A child is only a childfor such a very short time. They can still know the meaning of these holidays and have the joy also of believing in Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny.
You can teach your child about the Saviour's birth, his life, death and resurrection, and still let them enjoy the magic and thrill of Santa Clause and the Easter Bunny. It is so cruel and so selfish to take this away from a child. I've heard many accounts of the end result.
A child resents their parents for depriving them, and when they are grown, they celebrate these holidays and spend the rest of their life trying to make up for lost holidays.

Rose, where are YOU? I'd like to hear your response to my thread also, but you seem to be avoiding it like the plague. That's ok, the more you avoid it, the more you're seen as the hypocrite that you are.
Ohhhh... I thought I was Storm but now I'm Denise. LOL This is getting funnier. Denise, I think its a privlidge for her to think I am you. You're much more for comebacks than I am or could be. Rose you're an idiot, more of one everyday.
Rose, I really want you to look into your eyes in this picture and tell me if you think your actions on this board are what Jesus would have them to be. What would your mother think about the things you do on this board? Remember now, you're the second one from the left.
Actually, you're looking a little demon possessed in this picture, perhaps we should all pray for your exorcism.
And now I'm getting a little confused---I'm not a JW, I'm not Jewish, but this week you've accused me of being both chris1 and Carla. I think you're chasing your tail there, Rosey Posey, and it's kind of fun to watch.
Now, on with that exorcism----is there a priest in the house?
Oh My!! Is that ALCOHOL in that glass Rose is about to pick up? Lordy, it can't be!! After all, how many times has Rose stated on this board that alcohol has never and will never touch her lips?? Sure looks like an alcoholic beverage to me...and I also see an ashtray on that table. It's quite obviously a bar/pub environment.
Anything you want to fess up to Rose?? Not that you would, but I'll ask anyway.

Most definitely, Crystal. Now it looks to me that her friend is drinking a Shirley Temple by the amount of many cherries floating in the bottom of the glass---so she's obviously the designated driver, but now Rose's drink looks mysteriously darker, but yet still pinkish....hmmm....any bartenders in the house?
