haha newfie that's great! everyone posses powers, regardless of what religion you are, some people just tap into them more easily than others! i am referring to all kinds of witchcraft, but actually the two you talked about are one and the same. when using herbs and such for a singular purpose of curing an ailment for example, you are directing the energy of the herb, which in and of itself is a spell...simple, but still a spell, whether you realize it or not. Of course, spells can be much more elaborate, but much in the same way that prayers and christian services can be very elaborate....i'm rambling, i'll stop now heehee
Yes! be afraid! be very afraid!!! i've already posted to rose that i am cursing her, and now her dogs will be very sick and she will have high vet bills.....oh no wait she's done that to herself already...
anyways...ouija boards are wonderful tools, IF you know how to use them. I use mine regularly and love it hehe, it's quite fun. Witches/witchcraft is just as broad and varied as christianity. Different sects and beliefs, and even within those, you have the hardcore narrowminded christians *cough rose cough* and then the loose ones who only say it because they think its what's expected of them. Most people associate Wicca with witcraft, but there is a difference....i practice witchcraft but am decidedly not wiccan. just like if you are christian that doesn't make you catholic. christians are so eager to jump at the word "witch" i think its hilarious. witches and christians have so much in common, it's a shame that such rivalry should exist...
any questions you have about it, i will be more than happy to answer, but realize that what i have to say doesn't hold for all witches!
quote:Originally posted by Newfie: Thanks for the explanation. The other part that I hesitated to say about my grandmother (because so many "Christians" get offended) is that she could also work a Quija board by herself. She always fascinated me when I was a child. The Quija board was mine as a teenager. I am very secure in my Christian faith so I don't fear learning about the occult. I have always been curious about witches and witchcraft - just never pursued the interests. I would be interested in any posts about your craft (you do realize there will be bashing - It is the nature of these boards - as well as Biblical references to warnings in consorting with witches. Should I be afraid of you? -- just kidding!!
No bashing from me.....but I will say that I have heard from many a Christian, and it is my belief that about the time a person says they are secure in their faith or have a testimony of Christ that is rock solid, they could be in for a big surprise. Because their testimony could come crumbling down.
The spirit of God will not always dwell with man when they seek out evil.....and the Spirit of God, or Holy Ghost/Comforter will not always strive with man when they knowingly go into an evil place. I think all forms of Witch Craft are evil. I do not care to cross that line.

maybe you should actually read something about witchcraft before you bash it rose. it's not evil. only the misinformed believe that and I highly suggest you go educate yourself. I only hope god will forgive you of being so hateful to people who are different.
When Thou art come into the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all that do these things, are an abomination unto the Lord and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

why are thsee things an "abomination"? i don't understand that. i could go on, but because you are supposed to be ignoring me, i won't, you are just too narrow minded to comprehend.
see i was catholic. i guess you can call me faithless then lol, becuase there are things i have learned about the catholic church that i just could not accept on "faith alone". in witchcraft you are allowed to ask questions and not be looked down upon for it, which i love. god would rather you be happy worshiping him how it best suits you than miserable in another religion and not worshiping at all.
for me, witchcraft is a way of life, which thus encompasses my religion. wicca is a religion, would you rather talk about that? witchcraft is very spiritual, and when i practice it, i am in touch with god, much as you would be in touch with god during a prayer. so yes, witchcraft can very much so be a religion!
How unfare of you Rose, the Breeder's Corner is not for relgion discussion, but you bring it there, and now you want G.W.'s post removed b/c YOU don't agree with it? That is simple minded, and wrong.

Wicca is a legitimate religion, its one of the choices you can put on your dog-tags in the military, and has been reconized by the military in their Chaplains Manual since the 70's. For its followers its as real of a religion as any of the more popular 'acceptable' religious beliefs. It also can be argued that any form of pagan worship is far more ancient than the present form of christianity. Whats does that mean? Its always been here, and it probably always will.
