It doesn't take a special gift
To pray a heartfelt prayer?
And you don't have to be "ordained"
To know your Father cares.

It only takes a heart that loves
And wants to intercede
for others who are in despair
Or have some special need.

A prayer is a "petition"
For the people in your life?
A time of lifting up to God
Their sorrows and their strife.

But prayers are also blessings
Of thanks for all God's done?
Anyone can say a prayer;
Not just "anointed" ones!

GOD'S MERCY

God's mercy is the source of all
The gifts that He has given,
And is for every tortured soul
That will live,has lived, or living.

Only He would show such mercy
To the killers of His Son,
Whom He sent to earth to bleed and die
For the redemption of everyone.

Yes, Lord Jesus paid a debt for us
That we could never pay,
So thank God for His mercy
When you fold your hands to pray.

It is only by His mercy
That the grace He gives to all
Who accept His Son as Savior
From the time of Adam's fall.

So I pray that you will join me
And pray for every soul
To be with Him when we leave here
For with mercy that's God's goal.

OUT OF THE ASHES

Dear Lord, take my hand, lead me back to the Light
Pull me out of the ashes of selfishness and pride
Please help me to stand on my own and be strong
But to depend on You, as I should have all along
My eyes have been blind, Lord, and my ears could not hear
My heart's become hardened, yet I drown in my tears
I've wasted my life, Lord, by feeling so blue
I'm ready now, Father, to join hands with You
I know you are tired so I'm reaching out my hand
Pull me close to Your heart, Father, help me keep your commands
I want to thank you, dear Jesus, for holding me up
When I was too weakened to drink from your cup
But I'm reading Your word, Lord, and I pray You'll stay near
For without You I'm nothing...all alone and full of fear
I want to come out of the ashes, God, to the warmth of Your Light
Yes, I know you forgive me, I feel your love for this child
Now open my eyes to Your wondrous beauty all around
And open my ears to life's beautiful sounds
Take back my heart now and make it tender and new
Please, Lord, take my life.....I give it back to You !
