I have found better proof through the years of evolution. I personally believe evolution to be the stronger theory. The argument that seems to always stump creationists is the argument about the dinosaurs. We all know they existed, their bones are scattered all over the place. But the puzzling thing about that is, no large mammals or humans for that matter ever seem to be buried with them. There is also no mention of dinosaurs anywhere in the bible. If you've ever been to Dinosaur National Monument, there is a display there of a jumble of dinosaur bones from animals that died in a flash flood some 150 million years ago or so. But no where in that jumble is there bones of mammoths, rhinos, or any other large mammals from that area. So, this leads me to believe they were not around then. Evolution is going on under our noses even today. Or did all the creatures that ever lived just plop down on Earth in one day, like it says in the Bible? Just curious to see what everyone's answer is. You may be thinking "How can she call herself a christian? She believes in evolution!" Well, the thing is I haven't yet met a creationist who can answer the dinosaur questions. Got any theories? Share them!
If you are a Christian, then you believe in the Creation. You don't call yourself a Christian if you believe in Evolution! More on this topic later........

The thing is, that's the ONLY part of the Bible I don't believe; er, I can't believe.

evolution for me...there are lots of things in the bible that can be explained by science. If I believed in the Bible, which actually I believe in quite a bit of the Old Testament, there are several ways to explain evolution (in my mind). For one thing, I think our concept of time might be a tad bit different from what God's was back when he created the earth and animals. My guess is that God's day was a heck of a lot longer than ours. I think the whole creating adam out of dirt thing is a figure of speech....everything evolved from "dirt" so to speak in the beginning, it's all relative. And for people who don't think we evolved from monkeys...well, God never said what exactly Adam and Eve looked like, just that they were in his image...I wouldn't be surprised to find out God looks like a big monkey...
then again this were all if I thought the Bible was true...this is just my way of connecting things...

The Bible specifically tells us God has a body. Moses saw his finger, his backside, etc. There are numerous Scriptures recounting those that saw the face of God. One specifically that says one of the Prophets talked to God, FACE TO FACE.
Jesus Christ looked exactly like his Father God. And we are created in the image of God. Jesus had a body of flesh and bones. He still does and so does the Father. They reside in an exalted sphere and both have bodies. What do you think Jesus did with his body when he ascended into heaven at the end of his ministry?
Remember he was crucified and then he came back for I believe it was 40 days? Then multitudes saw him ascend into the heavens. He didn't just turn into a puff of smoke when he ascended. He resides with the Father and sits on the right hand of the Father. The Bible tells us so. How can one sit on the right hand, if the Father is not a man?

Then you believe in none of the Bible. Because the whole Bible is based on the fact that God Created the Heavens and the Earth, and God created us.

So monkeys can't sit? Everything you said, a monkey can do! and I don't believe that Jesus looked just like his Father, because then he would BE his father, which defeats the whole purpose of sending jesus...
My opinion = creation why? = if we evolved from monkeys or apes, then there wouldn't be any monkeys or apes still around--they would have evolved too! LOL

Some animals remain unchanged. Look at cockroaches, they've been around for 600 million years, still the same as they were when they started off.

And here it is Green_Wytch You wouldn't be surprised to find out God looks like a monkey! Well that would mean Christ looked like a monkey too, and we know for a fact he was a man. And Christ said he was created in the image of his Father. So that blows your theory that God and Christ are monkeys! Look in the mirror, do you look like a monkey?

I do! I do! And my feet are prehensile like a monkey's! I pick things up with my feet all the time. And ask my ma if I'm not part monkey. She said before I could even walk I was sliding down the banister of our stair case. Used to give my grandma a coronary too!

Really? Why is that? Why would some change and not others? Can you help me understand this please?

Exactly. Most of it has to do with environment. If the same species of chimp spread out all over the world, after a few generations, they would evolve characteristics that applied to life in their particular environment. Hence why some may evolve further, while others don't. Plus I think we just got lucky!! ^_^
