I am not the big praying type, simply due to my own beliefs. But, I think every little bit helps.
A good friend of ours, who is only in his late 30's has overnite become paralized from the waist down due to a tumor of some sort on his spine. He cannot feel/move anything below his chest. He has 3 small children and a wonderful wife. It is early so we are being optomisstic, which for me alone is a task.
I just ask that if you can please include him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

Prayers are being sent!! Hope everything turns out for the better...
and while we're praying, could we pray for my friend Amy? She's been having an awful time lately, her grandpa and uncle have died within the past five months, her mom was in the hospital this past weekend, and now tonight her other uncle died of a massive heart attack.....she needs strength right now...
also her cousin just had a baby boy tonight, about the same time her uncle died....interesting how god works, isn't it?
They removed what they could of the tumor, arent sure if he will regain movement. They also are pretty sure it is non-hotchkins lymphoma *sp* They are going to be looking for other tumors today.
My husbands really close to him. He is at work right now. I am so dreading telling him the news when he comes home.

Someimes, it just seems that we have been forsaken by all! I am not especially talking about God, but mankind!! Mike has a lot going for him-his age for one thing; but, the love of his friends and family plus all the prayers and positive thoughts we are sending can't hurt.. Please keep us posted and let us know what is going on.

ty whisper still....she just found out even MORE bad news yesterday....part of the reason her mom was in the hospital was because she is anemic, but they couldn't figure out WHY she was anemic....turns out she has two tumors the sizes of large lemons on her ovaries...she'll be going into surgery soon, but the good news is they aren't malignant. I just hope Amy doesn't have a nervous breakdown...
I know we are supposed to believe that God does not give us more than we can handle, but sometimes the load is so very heavy that it is hard to remember that. It always helps to know that others are on our side and are praying for you!!! BTW, cysts or tumors that are that size on the ovaries are not likely to be malignant. Best wishes to all those involved.

Just wanted to give an update and thanks for all who have been praying for Mike and his family.
He is still paralized, they dont have much to any hope he ever will not be. Mainly due to him going so long before surgery. The hospital didnt even want to admit him, and when they did didnt do anything until an entire day had went by with his not being able to move. He is a mmacho kind of guy, so this is doubley hard on him. He has had some good days, where he is grateful he still is here to hold his kids, but then he has bad days where he doesnt want to be here. They are looking for more tumors as with this type of cancer there usually are. I just hope there are no more, that they can address his cancer so he can be in remission, and that they are wrong about him always being paralized. But I watch too many soap operas :-D Please continue to think of them.
We are going to be creating a fund raiser for them. Hopefully it will help with their financial burden.

It gets worse, we had to leave our vacation early, he had a perforated colon and ended up in emergency surgery. He now has a colonostocomy (sp) bag. He is quite down obviously. He is also having a blood marrow test today to see if he may have leukemia.
Its just seems like a nightmere. We spent the weekend with him, his wife and kids just 2 weeks before all of this happened. Just so unreal.
So, please continue to keep him and his family in your thoughts & prayers.

I should have updated this sooner but dont find myself in the religon section very often.
Its been about 9 months since all of this happened. There have been some improvements in that time and unfortunantly recently a huge blow to him and his family.
Over the time that has past he has gained use of his legs/abdomen though he doesnt have sensation really, he can walk with a walker. He had been testing clear of the non-hodgkins lymphoma that had cause the tumor on his spine. He had began being able to urinate on his own. Over all it seemed as if he was improving.
Til this past week.
He was having some pain and went to his doctor to be scanned. They found pockets of fluid on his lungs. They withdrew a quart of brownish fluid from the pockets and tested it. He now has leukemia. They did a spinal tap last nite to see if it has gone to his bones. He also started Chemo last nite. They are giving him a 25% chance of survival if it hasnt gone into his marrow.
Please keep him and his family * young wife, 3 young children* in your thoughts and prayers.

I surely will Christina. And for Amy as well.
Christians say "don't question God's work". But inquisitive intelligent people always question something that they do not understand. It is okay to do so. Especially when something bad happens to someone so good.
But even after having said that,I do believe things do happen to us for a reason but for reasons we normally cannot understand.
I was watching the made for TV movie about FDR the other day. This portrayed a good example about how someone took a setback so big as paralysis and turned it around. I truly believe FDR became a much better man for polio. Sounds strange, but true. He did so much for others with the same disease and he did quite a bit for our contry too.....not only was a 13 year stint as president of the United States unheard of, but one in a wheelchair to boot!
And he is but one of many success stories like this of someone stricken with something so sad but turned it around.

Well he finished his first round of Chemo, they did another blood test and still find leukemia in his blood, so they have started a second round of chemo. He also has dilleria *sp* which the doctor says is normal when you have so much trauma to ones body. I feel so bad for him and his family. His wife is being so strong. The doctors are giving him a 1 in 4 chance. Please continue to keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
