In response to hope's questions, I believe we are here on earth to lead happy and productive lives. Even though we are going to get eaten by worms, and nothing that we do will matter after we are dead, we still have families that care about us and stuff that we can do long before we are dead that makes those worms not matter. Now on the main subject I do not believe in god or satan, I believe that there must be something out there, but we weren't meant to know what it is, and if we do know what it is it may ultimately lead to a dead civilization here on earth. The reason I believe that is because if we do find out where we came from or why we are on earth we would no longer have anything to hope for or to search for. We would all get bored. All our questions would be answered. Atheist is actually a religion all in itself, I have known people who are atheist and they go to church, alot of times the churches are a mixture of different religions including christian and pagan gods. It is more of a place to find out what religion you agree with more, or if you don't agree with one more than the other, a place where you can worship different types at the same time. I do not like when people of other religions try to force me into their religion. I have had friends try to do this to me, eventually after hearing my side of it, they respect my side of it, and if they don't they usually do not stay my friend long. I respect other people's religions and expect my friends to do the same for me. To me a religion is a religion, but for people who follow a religion I understand that for them it is more than that. So, just because someone doesn't want to respect your right to choose, doesn't mean that you should't respect theirs. If you can't respect theirs, then you are only lowering yourself to their level, which makes you no better than them anyways.

I'm a true Atheist. I don't believe in God or Satan. Ever since I was a child born into the Lutheran faith I had questions. First I believed there was a god, but didn't believe in Hell or Satan. Then I stopped believing that Jesus was his son. Then in later years I started to question god himself and after much pondering I've come to the conclusion that I just don't believe in him.
I believe everyone has the right to believe what they want and not be criticized for it. I don't think badly of people who believe in the Bible and God, everyone needs something in their life that gives it meaning. I just don't want people or society telling me that I am wrong and I am a bad person because I don't have the same beliefs they do. I don’t need to be saved and like Evensence says "Don't try to fix me, I'm not broken"
I'm just a turtle basking in the sun.

And you know what Littlemusk, i read your reply and felt no hatred or disgust because you believe what you believe. I do believe in God, but it does not stir me up in the least to knwo that others do not.
It is your right to have your own set of beliefs. It kills me how people (oh not just here, in life in general) feel the need to shove their beliefs down your throat!
I hate it and that is why I will not belong to any orthodox religions today. Not all are like that but a good majority of congregations of any formal church tend to have this type of judgemental attitude toward others.

To Kerack and Others that have had bad experiences with "Christians" on this board (or anywhere else). First I apologize, Kerack, for coming to your thread and mentioning "God" as you specifically asked that no one do that.
I just wanted to point out that there are soooo many people out there that claim the name of 'Christian' but are anything BUT Christian. If someone is razzing you and talking down to you and trying to act high and mighty they are not following the teachings of the faith they are supposed to be defending. It makes me sad, as a Christian, to see the faith I love being dragged thru the mud just because someone wants to make a point or appear "Holier than Thou"...as the old saying goes.
To the posters that proclaim Christianity I plead with you ... either follow the teachings of the faith and change your attitude toward non-believers or disregard the title of Christian. You are doing nothing but hurting Christianity by acting this way!
